Christopher Holmes King (Jesus Reborn)
This truth was revealed to me on 27-7-2024, on the Sabbath, taken from my Google doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZUeh4N2XoBa3wJ4jtgwXlgkaiWfsbIK7kuq5MfdNmP8/edit?usp=sharing "Could 434.02km (note: distance apex of the Great Pyramid of Giza to the apex Church of Nativity in Bethlehem) be linked to the diameter of the moon? I searched, and 3474.8 km was the diameter of the moon. 3474.8 divided by 434.02 is 8.006082669 Pretty much exactly 8 astounding.
What would make it exactly 8, a difference in location from the Apex of the Church of Nativity of only 330 meters: 434.35 (434.35 times by 8 equals 3474.8). Jesus is supposed to have been born near the site of the Church of the Nativity could it be 330 m from the apex of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem? I would argue it was."

Alex Kaplan and Payton Armstrong at MMFA:
Following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, right-wing media figures and social media users have spread baseless conspiracy theories and claims about the shooting.  They have amplified a 4chan hoax that the Secret Service gave a stand-down order during the shooting; made baseless allegations that Alex Soros was connected to the shooting; falsely claimed a protester at a 2016 Trump rally was the shooter; suggested the shooting could be attributed to the intelligence community, the “deep state,” foreign actors, or an “RNC/Israeli hit job”; and connected the assassination attempt to biblical prophecy and “the hand of God.”
Right-wing media are spinning reality-free conspiracy theories about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

see the thing about anime and anime-adjacent things is that i have given up on expecting them to do good on character designs on south/west/southwest asian characters
#like yes of course the chinese game company pays very close attention to fantasy china#they also call themselves otakus so of course they pay close attention to fantasy japan#even though they failed at not sexualizing the women in either region#fantasy germany i cannot say anything abt bc i dont know shit about real life germany but#im pretty sure they didnt even really integrate german culture into mod#mond*#not in the way they did liyue and inazuma#all the sumeru quests that have something to do with the eremites are dogshit bc of course they are#the dark skinned people are viewed as barbaric and uncivilized and stupid even in-game#literally the only saving grace is that the akademiya is full of pretentious racist classist bastards anyway#i dont mind dark skinned characters being morally dubious#it becomes a problem when the only dark skinned character in genshin who is genuinely wholesome is xinyan#and shes not even part of the main story#kaeya is sidelined constantly#candace and cynos designs suck ass because why are the desert dwellers wearing extremely revealing clothing#dehya is.... fine. i guess her skin counts as pretty dark to a racist company#and i love nahida as a character but i still hate her fucking design#im pretty sure the light skinned characters in sumeru have lighter skin than the light skinned characters in other nations#u cant go too wrong with a european country i guess but fellow asians are too hard to respect properly#bc of the colourism. of course#not even arknights is safe from this shit and i generally think of ak as leagues better than most gacha games ive ever played#like yeah of course theres orientalism and sexualization and colourism and racism and classism#even when those things are contested within the story its like the artists and whatnot just do not give a fuck#sumeru is rich with lore and the way they integrated aranyaka was cool and the archon quest was so good too#but it really is just. so bad at the same time#so i just dont think abt it anymore. whatever man#if i want actual good rep for south/southwest/west asians i would watch shows made here#and play games made by fellow south/southwest/west asian people#not chinese or japanese companies

"Well, the guns singing will be good enough, and..." Araceli hummed, grinning at Oddette before looking toward the base ahead. "As for when we head out - we're going now~"
Janne stared. "What?"
Araceli looked toward her forces, yelling. "Mages - FIRE at the main gate!"
A whole gathering of mages immediately stepped forward and blasted a variety of wind, fire, and ice magic at the same time. Parts of the main gate of the base immediately splintered apart from the force of the gate, before the rest of it shattered and collapsed. Screams of horror could be heard from within the area surrounding the base, from evil dragon people who absolutely no idea what the hell was going on.
Araceli snapped her fingers as several of her forces charged forward to attack the dragon group members, taking the enemy all by surprise, and Janne heard actual music coming from the band! And was Araceli - singing!? Now!?
A kiss on the hand May be quite continental, But diamonds are a girl's best friend!
A kiss may be grand But it won't pay the rental On your humble flat, Or help you feed your pompus cat~
Some enemies charged at Janne and Oddette, but Janne immediately went to fighting them after going into Blazing Wolf stance, kicking and slashing at the enemy. Other enemies tried to attack Araceli, but she just smiled and rose into the air with her wind magic to dodge, before blasting them away with more wind magic. From the corner of his eye, Janne saw the snake on Araceli's shoulder leap off and bite an enemy soldier in the neck, making them scream in agony.
Men grow cold As girls grow old And we all lose our charms in the end!
But square-cut or pear-shaped These rocks don't lose their shape Diamonds are a girl's best friend~!
-----
Ariel looked toward James, nodding. "Good to know. We'll make sure the golems don't get too close. Now," He looked toward Mona. "Start the illusions. We'll wait for them to start panicking a bit before we run in."
Geist raised a brow. "And once we do go in...?"
A grin came across Ariel's face - but it was a bit of a hungry one, to Mona's intrigue. "Geist, you have full permission to go as full-out you like with slaughtering the enemy. Try to leave a few alive by the end, though."
"Yes!" A wide grin came across Geist's case - one of his signature, bloodthirsty ones. "Ooh, I've been craving this for a while. This'll be a fine time~!"
Mona decided to focus on the illusions and not so much on Ariel and Geist's shared bloodthirst. Her eyes glowed as she held out a hand toward the base - and dark clouds seemed to appear only seconds later, immediately starting a heavy downpour, then the sound of thunder rumbling...

Hey >:) Just a thought I had while reading the child creator AU.
What if the child was actually on of the archons? like, would you imagine it being Zhongli or Venti? They be like:
Zhongli: I demand to know who the father is! *looking threadedly while holding his spear, ready to pounce at someone* Creator: *sweating and thought* It's you bu. *The other Archons arguing as to which mortal it was that laid their hands on their creator*
Creator: *looks at them, then looking at Venti* *Venti, catching the creators gaze, winked and took his tonged out, fully knowing he was the father but keeping quite. He wasn't that dumb.*
Anyway that's enough of me, bye!
Archon's son
Tumblr media
WC : 1k, venti: 591 zhongli:594
(somehow they ended somewhat close! I thought zhongli would be longer by a fair bit)
Cw:
venti- nahida can see the baby kicking inside the belly (I heard some people feel it's like body horror so just in case)
Zhongli -reader passed out because of low iron, pica/eating rocks
I will admit that this is mostly centered around the idea that they do know that it's theirs or it's likely to but at the beginning there is something along the line of that, anyway, wouldn't it be fun if venti's child could change some features, one day he looks like you and the next he is his dad's clone
“Why is everyone so silent?” Venti fills his glass with some wine, the atmosphere thick enough to cut. You were hosting dinner in your serenitea pot, something informal and a thinly veiled excuse to strengthen links between nations, and somehow the papers written by your physician were next to the door long enough for both zhongli and the tsaritsa to read.
“Their situation implies that they shared bed with a mortal” the tsaritsa crosses her arms above her chest, the way her lips curved and the roll of her eyes show her distaste for the situation.
“If their grace wanted to be accompanied by a man shouldn't that be their choice?” Venti says out loud while feigning innocence who are we even to judge that?”
“Surprisingly enough Barbatos does have a point, to react like this is to some extent patronizing” Nahida nods along.
“tsk!”
“They seem pleased enough with the current situation so I find no reason to meddle” Raiden speaks for the first time since being seated. As much as the tsaritsa would have liked to snap back at her, you appear from the hallway oblivious to their fight so she chooses to bite her tongue and hope you bring it up later.
“Aren't they fidgety…” Nahida mumbles softly as you pat her hair, the soft white hair mixing with her green streaks. Her head is resting on your lap as you drink tea, bright green eyes focused on the prodding against your skin, some kicks and punches from the inside.
“Mhm, I can feel it in my ribs”
“just one month more, your grace!”
“Never thought a child could be so similar to only one of their parents” Raiden watches the baby from his crib, a small wood cot that Candace sent as a gift from Aaru village.
“Well, to a certain extent I expected that” venti WAS originally a formless air spirit mimicking his friend's form, at first you didn't even think he would be able to reproduce, but here we are and hubris is your biggest sin.
“♪~~♪~” spirit form venti sneaked inside the nursery by the slightly cracked space between the window and the window frame, barely smaller than your pinky finger but just enough for him to slip inside.
A good thing of simply being a bard in his nation was the freedom he enjoys, he is known for his songs and how good they are so it isn't strange when you have him around your house or in your serenitea pot, the pretext that you enjoy music under the shadow of your garden and that your little clone gets lulled to sleep quickly by his soft tunes. Even then it would be strange for him to be around so often so sometimes he just settles for mixing between his son's plushies and watching him play around for a while, after all it isn't like he has anything better to do.
“!!” Swiftly he gets caught by his son's hand and thrown up and down like a doll. This wasn't as smart as he thought.
“Hello, baby” Venti babytalks the the 1 year old seated on the floor playing with stacking blocks when he sees him he smiles. As much as Venti loved the image he couldn't help but be slightly scared as when he opened his eyes they were now his exact same colour.
“Oh, sh-” next blink his eyes were your color, the sane he was born with “how about we make this our little secret we never talk about ever again?”
Tumblr media
“Their condition isn't as dire as you are making it seem it's just-” Zhongli tries to calm down Raiden, who visited Liyue under the pretext of cultural exchange.
“It isn't dire? They almost passed out during a leisurely stroll”
“At most they might have gotten low blood pressure”
Baizhu lets your arm go to hush them a bit “they aren't sick, just pregnant and not eating enough iron. May I continue the check-up or do you wish to wait outside?”
“as I insisted, Raiden, their grace isn't ill, they are just pregnant, which falls under no criteria of sickness”
“I meant to tell this to everyone next month but I guess Raiden gets to be the second to know!”
“For one to be impertinent enough to dare bed their grace” Raiden snarls under her teacup, a frown on her lips.
“I must guess their couple must be Ill mannered and uncivil” the tsaritsa follows her idea, the rest of the archon were asked to visit Liyue sooner than arranged to receive an important and very unexpected news, even if they didn't wish to show you directly their discontent between them it was fair enough.
“Don't you seem too calm, Morax?”
“Not at all, I'm burning with hatred” he crosses his legs but makes the point of hitting his knee against the table “I'm so angry I can't even control my moves”
“…”
“…”
“…”
“i will be prescribing you with a herbal tea to ease the birth process, when you come out Qiqi should have them neatly portioned in the daily brew” Baizhu turns around to give Qiqi the list of flowers and roots and how much of each to put in little silk satchel. As he turns around to follow the examination he sees you close to the flowerpot on the desk and your cheek lightly swollen. A deep sigh leaves hus disappointed face, simply pointing to the pot “please, spit” and you do so, a rock falling back to the dirt. Even then Baizhu still looks disappointed.
“Didn't you tell me to eat more iron?”
“Not from dirt, my grace…”
“Then is iron ore fair game?”
“No… just simply no”
“He is a chunky baby” furina prods at your son's chubby cheek, before the time of delivery the doctors told you to expect twins but unexpectedly enough he was just a big baby around 4kg or 8.8lbs and he keeps growing as times goes.
“As heavy as a bag of stones!”
Lei headbutts your leg, his small hands scratching his scalp “please don't tell me you got lice, I told you to be careful” you settle your cup down on the table as you excuse yourself with cloud retainer, who visited to give you advice at childrearing.
“But I wasn't close to anyone with lice” quickly, your hands start segmenting his scalp looking for lice or eggs but there was nothing behind his ears or on his nape, but when you go higher towards his forehead you find two protrusions that made Lei push your hand away when touched.
“Ah? That does remind me back when Morax ripped his horn off during a fight, tte skin closed and we were so worried it wouldn't grown back, luckily a few months after a new one punctured the skin, even if he was so cranky like a child that season”
“And here I thought because he wasn't born with them he wouldn't get them”
“To suppress such minimal features shouldn't be too much work, even if this one thinks the child would prefer not to”

Lucky Day
Mike Schmidt x gender neutral!reader
Fandom: Five Nights at Freddy’s
Synopsis: A certain exhausted customer hasn’t failed to order a coffee every morning ever since the cafe opened up two months ago. Today, however, he seems much more stressed than usual.
Warnings: pre-movie, fluff
Word count: 1k
Tumblr media
“Mama! Look, look, I even got the receipt!”
You smile as the little girl who just ordered a hot chocolate skitters over to her mother with a proud smile.
Warm sunlight shines through the windows of the cafe, illuminating the dark oak tables lined by the walls decorated with paintings and drawings by little kids.
You’ve loved working here, even though the place hasn’t been open very long. The atmosphere never fails to calm you.
The line is empty once again, so you turn to your coworker and friend, Candace, about to start a small conversation until you hear the front door’s bell jingle.
You look over to the door, readying your work smile, until you see who it is.
There he is. Right on schedule.
A genuine smile creeps onto your face.
Ever since the cafe you work at—Cora’s Coffee—opened two months ago, the same worn-out yet handsome customer hasn’t failed to show up every morning at 9am for a coffee.
And in Mike walks, this time sporting dark circles under his eyes.
He walks past the little girl clutching the receipt next to her mother and right up to you.
“Hey,” he breathes.
“Black coffee, a quarter cup of half and half, and one spoonful of sugar?”
Mike blinks, staring at you blankly until the ghost of a smile appears on his face.
“Yep.”
But his response doesn’t matter, because you’re already writing down the order and handing it to Candace.
“You look tired,” You observe as you put his order into the cash register. Mike sighs and offers a weak shrug.
“Up late job hunting.” Is all he says in response, causing you to glance up to him.
Somehow he looks even more sleep deprived than normal. …Still handsome, though.
You can feel your cheeks warm slightly at the thought, but you brush it off.
“Job hunting? I thought you were just hired somewhere?” You frown.
“Yeah, so did I.”
You sigh softly as Mike takes out a 10 dollar bill to pay, but you wave him off. He stares at you in confusion.
“On the house.”
Mike blinks, staring at you quizzically. “…Won’t your boss be upset?”
You shrug. “She can take it off my pay.”
Mike’s stare doesn’t let up, and it’s starting to make you a little self-conscious.
“What? Never heard of a little act of kindness?” You huff as you hide your face behind the cash register, acting like you’re busy to try and hide the small blush on your cheeks.
You can hear a small chuckle, causing your eyes to widen. You look up from behind the cash register to see a small smile gracing Mike’s lips.
“Thanks.”
You shrug, causing him to chuckle once again.
“…You remind me of my sister.” You hear Mike mutter softly. Looking up, you see a sad glint in his eye. His smile is gone.
“Your sister?” Mike looks at you, and you can tell he’s a little surprised you heard him.
“…Yeah,” When you don’t say anything, he sighs and continues. “She’s younger than me. 10 years old.”
You blink. “I remind you of a 10 year old? Gee, thanks.” Mike snorts.
“I don’t mean it in a bad way. You’re just… I don’t know, you remind me of her.”
You smile. Just as you’re about to say something, you feel someone elbow your side. It’s Candace, handing you Mike’s coffee.
You frown in confusion, as it’s not your job to give customers their drinks. Candace motions for you to read the cap of the cup.
You read it, and clearly written on the cap is:
look on the bottom of the cup for a surprise!
Candace’s handwriting.
You glance at her suspiciously before looking to Mike. “Excuse me for a moment.”
Mike shrugs and you step farther behind the counter, peering at the coffee cup curiously. You glance up at Candace who’s taking a customer’s order, but she shoots you a cheeky smile.
You sigh and carefully raise the coffee cup above your head. On the very bottom of the cup reads:
Hey! In case you wanna hang out, here’s my number: xxx-xxx-xxxx
- (Name) :)
Your jaw clenches in embarrassment.
“Candace—“
You look up, only to see that where Candace was standing is now your other coworker, Benjamin. He seems just as confused as you.
You grumble and screw the top back on.
Glancing up at Mike, you just now realize how long he’s been waiting for his coffee—this and chatting with you probably took up a lot of his time, as he’s almost always in and out.
You purse your lips as you glance down to the cup of coffee and back up at Mike. He chews on his fingernail, uninterested, as the sunlight now shines on him. The tips of his dark curls shine a nice golden brown.
Feeling bad that you’ve made him wait so long, you decide to replace the cap of the cup with a different one that has no writing on it.
Screwing the cap on, you walk back to your place at the cash register.
“Mike!”
Mike looks up and walks over. He takes the cup from your hands.
“I can pay.”
“Nope.”
“You sure?”
“Yep.”
Mike sighs, shaking his head with a small smile on his face.
“Thanks again.”
You smile and wave as he turns to the door. He sends you a wave over his shoulder, and with a jingle, he’s gone.
Two hours later…
You yawn, stretching your arms over your head as you walk out of the cafe. The bell bids you goodbye with a cheerful chime, and you walk down the street to a cheerful beat. You reach into your back pocket and pull out your phone.
Opening the settings, you turn off Do Not Disturb, only to see you’ve gotten seventeen texts.
You open up Messages, seeing most of the notifications were from a group chat with a few of your friends.
However, you have one text from an unknown number.
You curiously click on the text, only for it to read:
<9:36am>
hey, this is mike. i’m free on weekends if the offer to hang out is still available?
Your eyes widen and you read over the text at least three more times before you’ve finally processed it.
Mike Schmidt wants to hang out with you?
This must be your lucky day.

Forgery - Chapter 2
Gender neutral reader, will tag part 1 at some point. Part 1 is the first chapter, and is needed as it's part of this fic. This is more build up than, I can see this having more than 5 chapters with how I'm thinking up a plot... And that's before stemming off into other routes!
--
"Good morning." You hear Sethos smile, handing you some water before stretching his limbs. "Ready to keep going?"
"Do you need sleep? I know I've slept a good few hours, I'd feel bad for letting you run on nothing." You chime in, Sethos rubbing the back of his head.
"As much as I'd like to take you up on that offer, I'm afraid because you are considered a suspect - I can't leave you unattended." Sethos states, beginning to prepare for the continued walk.
"Fine...If we land up walking past a village, though, could you ask for a couple of hours of sleep? I'll make sure someone keeps an eye on me."
"Funny you say that - Aaru village is just a few miles away! I'll stop by there, and Candace can keep watching of you." Sethos smiles.
Nodding, you help Sethos pack his bag before continuing on. Turns out he was right, Aaru village was there, and he was allowed to sleep. The only difference was, instead of Candace watching over you, it was the General Mahamatra himself. Initially, it was Candace looking after you while Cyno spoke to Sethos - you could only hope he wasn't tearing Sethos a new one for stopping. You plan to address this when you do finally speak to Cyno.
"So you're the person allegedly threatening the Medical Melusine?" Cyno speaks, causing you to jump.
"I was accused of that, yes." You start, already sensing Cynos immediate distaste. "I promise it wasn't me who sent the threat though! I wouldn't dream of hurting Sigewinne - she's my friend!"
"I must advise you to be careful with your words." Cyno responds, sitting across from you. "I plan on interviewing you here, before taking you to your final location."
Seeing your face drop, seemingly terrified you were going to be executed based on what you heard of Sumerus punishments, Cyno pipes up once again. "Don't worry - you will be working alongside a colleague of mine. I have not yet decided your fate due to lack of evidence."
Letting out a sigh of relief, you let him continue.
"Now, forgeries are very common - from my conversation with Sethos, it isn't a scenario I would rule out as unlikely. That being said, I must say I don't know you well enough to decide." Cyno begins, pulling out a pen and paper before pushing it towards yourself. "I would like you to write how you begin a letter, as well as how you sign off a letter. Be precise - if you have multiple variations depending on the relation, please include these."
Not thinking twice, you pick up the pen and paper, writing the requested evidence out. Cyno watches you, taking mental notes for himself as you carry out the task without having to think too hard.
"Here. What else do you need?" You ask, the paper being handed back over as well as the pen.
"Do you have any people you do wish harm upon? Any enemies at all?" Cyno asks, you shaking your head no. "How about jealousy - anyone you think of that may be jealous, please let me know."
"I can't think of anyone." You answer honestly.
"Last question - do you have any connections to outside organisations? The Fatui, the Abyss order, the Guhua Clan, anyone?" Cyno asks, you denying this. "Thank you for your answers. Please complete this form - this will be basic information for healthcare in Sumeru, and since you are still considered a suspect due to lack of incriminating evidence efficiently linking you to the crime you are entitled to free healthcare."
-
The walk to Gandharva ville is relatively uneventful - excluding your admiration of all the wildlife and plants you hadn't seen before. Upon arrival at Master Tighnaris house, Cyno knocks before walking in, you following along.
"Oh, thank you for gracing me with your presence, General." Tighnari huffs, finishing up with a vial of medicine. "Consider yourself lucky I didn't drop this vial. And is the person behind you the "alleged" Melusine hater?" Tighnari tuts, looking at you.
"I don't hate my friend, it was a forgery!" You tell, Tighnari wincing at the loudness. "Sorry, I've just had a hard time with all of this."
"...Cyno, please take our esteemed guest to their home - they will be staying with a guard - before we continue our discussion of the situation?" Tighnari asks. Cyno nods, gesturing for you to head out with him.
Upon entering the home, Cyno excuses himself as your roommate shows you around - where to get cleaned up, your bed, the essential bits and bobs.
--
Tighnari looks over the evidence Cyno had collected of your situation - some from you, and some from Wriothesley or Neuvillette. Upon first glance, the threatening letters look real.
But a second glance gives more context. None of the threats had your usual signatures or opening lines, and there were inconsistencies with the writing. A rare letter looked out of place, almost like two letters had been smashed together to make up for a mistake on the writers behalf.
Your medical information also gave hints - the person who wrote the letters didn't seem to account for your age, clearly quoting an 'age' you were that was off by approximately 5 years from when the letter was written and/or sent.
"I think this is a forgery, but I want to consult another opinion from someone else before pushing forward." Cyno explains. "I am asking yo.u not as a colleague, but rather as a friend - if you had been looking at this letter, would you think this person was _?"
"I think it's clear this is a forgery - I'm surprised that nobody in Fontaine clocked this, given they will likely have more evidence than ourselves." Tighnari tilts his head. "Ask for a second opinion, but I think they jumped to conclusions given the violent threats in this letter. I also noted _ referred to Sigewinne, but didn't voice any distain towards her..." Tighnari places a hand on his chin, thinking intently.
Cyno takes the letters, nodding as he agrees with Tighnari.
"Turns out-" Cyno starts, noting Tighnari cringing inwardly. "- the medical records have proven to be important to this investigation."
Tighnari let's out a sigh of relief, relieved Cyno didn't crack an awful joke.
"I would like to tell a joke, however given the seriousness of the threat I will hold back." Cyno blankly explains, walking out.

The Aftermath of Summer
Summary: Who stays to watch the credits roll at the end of a film?
Word Count: 3.4k
Tags: Alhaitham X Fem!Reader, Modern AU, Vampire AU, Contract Marriage, Fluff, Angst, Grief, TW: Talks about death, themes about death, sfw, slight! reincarnation themes, broke student life.
Authors Note: The aftermath of looking over the garden wall to see the flowers. I hope this piece brings to rest the questions that may or may not remain unanswered. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The garden was empty tonight, the sun had long been chased away by the dark entourage of the night and her stars.
The gates should’ve been sealed, locked by chains and heavy locks to separate the hearts that still beat and those that have decayed.
However, as a creature that’s born forever outside the delicate balance, how can these gates stop him?
Or simply the watcher who wanders about these grounds looks the other way, to give this pitifully foolish vampire a semblance of privacy.
Even the moon covered herself with clouds, trying not to peek as Alhaitham knelt down next to a polished rock.
There were double as many flowers in his arms tonight, the fragrance carried by the late breeze was twice as overbearing.
It doesn’t bother him, after all, his senses have been steeled against this.
A variable walked through the sliding doors at the office tonight, disrupting Alhaitham’s treasured routine with a bitterly sweet bouquet.
“Secretary Alhaitham.” A voice called as a hand knocked against the wooden frame of his office.
Said vampire responds with a grunt of acknowledgment, pen only pausing when a familiar fragrance fills the air.
“You have a visitor.” Faruzan steps to the side, nose scrunched up at the unaccustomed scent.
Familiar scarlet locks shuffled into view of teal eyes, hands fiddling with the ends of a silk ribbon that contained the bundle together.
It’s hard to not put a name to that shade of hair, Nilou, it’s been a while.
When was the last time he saw the faces of your dearest friends? Perhaps a few months back, while a coffin was lowered into the cold ground alone.
That day was mockingly clear, the sky showing off her most vibrant hues of orange, violet, and pink, brilliant colors competing with those of the blooms thrown into the lonely pit.
No words were exchanged between him and the guests. The same faces of those who once danced and smiled with you within the decorated walls of a wedding venue are now deep in mourning.
So much so that they collectively overlooked the immortal creature who stood amongst them, or perhaps they were too self-absorbed in their own sorrows to extend any grace to him.
After all, in their eyes, how could a creature like him ever understand the grief experienced by those with finite time?
It was for the best, Alhaitham is never in the mood to engage in meaningless small talk, there’s no need for them to give him their hollow condolences.
Instead, he shall stand guard just off to the side, eyes observing every toss of cold dirt until the lacquered box was no longer visible.
Sealing the gates to an unexplored sanctuary that held answers untold.
Alhaitham places his pen down, turning his full attention to the young lady who brought a physical memory into his office.
“Hello, Mr. Alhaitham… um, I’m sorry if I’m bothering you.”
Giving a curt nod to Faruzan, he dismisses her from his office, giving him and the guest some privacy.
The polite silence encouraged her to finish stating her purpose this late evening, the ashen-haired vampire awaits patiently with his hands folded atop the desk.
“I… I know there isn’t a reason for you to keep in contact with us, but… I felt it’s only right to show gratitude towards you for everything you’ve done.”
The scarlet-haired lady closes her eyes, chest expanding with a deep inhale, mind stringing together her unrehearsed lines.
“Originally, I wanted to bring Dehya and Candace along, but… their jobs kept them busy.”
It’d be quite the sight, two hunters thanking the very creatures they’ve spent their whole careers ripping the hearts out of. Even if it might seem like a thinly veiled excuse, Alhaitham knew Nilou’s words were sincere.
The firm hand on the shoulder Dehya gave him at the end of committal service, once the mourns finished shedding their tears over freshly dug dirt, was enough for him to understand.
As expected of a hunter, the strength in her grip on his shoulder stung, but she didn’t let go and he didn’t make any moves to brush her off.
A moment of silence for two grieving beings to communicate their shared pain, both caused a by void that can never be filled.
After a few breaths, the flame-mane hunter releases her hold, wordlessly parting from him. As his teal gaze moves back up they connect with heterochromatic eyes.
Candace simply steadies her stare, then closes her lids as she nods in silent understanding. He mirrors her actions, and she then joins her mortal companions.
The only gestures he accepted that horrid day, olive branches handed over by two sides.
“She used to always close her eyes when she smiled, but after she married you, she smiled with her eyes open.”
A clever habit you had, concealing the apathetic vacuums of your irises when your lips curled, otherwise it’d distract from the radiant grin.
A brilliant technique utilized by an actress as skilled as you.
“Thank you, thank you so much for making her happy, she really was happy.”
The air remains silent, but his hands were gripping each other just a tab bit tighter.
Alhaitham’s pride would never allow him to confess the truth, it’s embarrassing to admit that a creature who’s lived through multiple lifetimes couldn’t decrypt the actions of a mere mortal.
Your performance was just that captivating, blurring the distinction between a daydream and reality. Bravo.
Nilou carefully places the bouquet upon a vacant spot on his desk, they gave each other a nob in acknowledgment before parting ways yet again.
Perhaps the final applause after the credits have rolled.
Brushing away the wilted bouquet before setting down the bright blooms still fresh with the vigor of life. Gathering the debris to ensure the soft glow of the night could reflect off the glossy surface, you always liked watching the stars.
In the empty silence of the garden offered Alhaitham the serenity of a deep reflection.
Away from the rowdy city streets and obnoxious office phones. He reviews the past seven years, emending his past assessment of your character.
You weren’t a capricious breeze nor were you a delicate flower. You were a human, a strange human, but a human nonetheless. The purest embodiment of mortality.
That’s how Alhaitham will remember you, that’s how you wanted to be remembered. It’s his final duty as your husband,  he’ll carry it out with the same dedication.
Technically speaking, not all clauses were truly fulfilled.
The ashen-haired creature stands by the grave for a few beats more, before his feet finally broke free from their trance.
Redirecting his body towards the gates, his back facing your headstone. But it’s fine, he has to wipe down the polished stone tomorrow night.
For now, let the stars keep your company.
Tumblr media
Readjusting to the tediousness of a solitary life was unexpectedly troublesome. Alhaitham never realized just how quickly dust loves to accumulate upon untouched surfaces.
How can objects still get dirty even when there’s no interference with their existence? A question not even the universe can answer.
For his idle eyes to be bothered by the subtle hints of dust and misaligned book spines, you truly did an outstanding job in your household duties, honoring the agreements printed on the contract.
The dryer sings its tone, Alhaitham places the dust cloth down to attend to the laundry before wrinkles can settle in. It's strange really, how certain scents can never be replicated by teams of scientists.
No detergent could ever truly hold the fragrance of a morning star.
However, it would be far too tiresome for a creature of the night to voluntarily embrace the stinging light just for a familiar whiff of solace.
He’ll just have to get used to the artificial aroma of fresh linen, after all these years, Alhaitham has gotten comfortable with the notion of change, an experienced expert in adapting to the times.
Nothing is immune to change, nothing can remain the same when the hands of a clock tick forward.
Thus, the clothes you once owned no longer hold the scent you once dawned. Yet, if he were to remove them… the closet would be too empty, best to leave them there.
With the laundry now checked off the list, Alhaitham returns back to the living room where he left one responsibility unfinished. Picking up the cloth square once more, he wipes the layer of dust from the neglected remote.
Some of the print among the rubber buttons were faded, signs of wear from indecisive fingers as they debate which show they should settle on for the night.
Something passionate? Comedy? Dramatic? Which genre did you prefer the most?
His firm motions with the cloth absentmindedly pass over a certain button, allowing the large screen a long-awaited chance to flicker back on. Accompanying the bright flash of colors came the crisp audio of a rehearsed conversion between the two characters on screen.
Alhaitham stills as his head turns toward the TV.
It must be a newly released drama, one with fresh faces and a carefully selected cast. It’s such a shame that all their efforts are wasted in vain, for there’s no audience upon a worn coach to appreciate their work.
With that thought, Alhaitham sets the remote down as his ageless body settles into the sofa just adjacent to the centered coach.
The night is still young, dust will accumulate nevertheless, it wouldn’t make a difference in taking another break.
-
There’s a line of distinction between a mind that’s been cultivated by the pages of a book and a mind that’s been entertained by artistically framed scenes.
When one crosses the other, the gap in understanding reveals itself, manifesting in the confusion of how to appreciate such things.
It’s how you felt when trying to interpret the texts written long before you were born, face scrunched up in focus as your eyes move across the aged paper.
It’s how he feels as he observes the two lead actors as disembodied laughter rang out.
The pacing was slow, dialogue uninteresting to an immortal that’s long-lived past the experience of university. But, it’d be a waste to not finish something he intended to do from the start.
The cushions were soft, supporting his settling frame as the tension leaves his muscles, beckoning his eyelids to lower, luring him into the darkness that lay behind them.
Tumblr media
“Haitham~ are you alive?” A voice brushes against his face.
The presence of someone intruding upon his personal space made his body alert again, the wisps of sleep vanish.
Slowly he lifts up his leaden lids, blinking the haze of sleep away, vision gradually clearing to reveal your grinning face.
“Are you finally done with the assignments you’ve procrastinated?”
“I didn’t procrastinate, I knew I could finish them in time for the deadline and I did.” His voice still gruff with sleep.
“Your breath stinks of coffee.”
“What an observation, coffee is a common beverage consumed by all walks of life.”
“Haitham, it’s 10 pm.”
“It isn’t exclusive to one time.”
An exaggerated huff leaves your lips as you folded, plotting your body right on top of his, the aged couch creaking in protest.
Instinctively, his arms opened to catch your frame, embracing you gently against his chest. Feeling the rhythm of your heart beating in time with his.
“Stubborn.” You muttered.
“Summarizing yourself?” Alhaitham bites back a chuckle as a balled-up fist gently knocks against his torso.
It’s been a while since you’ve had a tender moment like this. Deadlines and exams brought on by the warming air of a concluding semester keep you both on a tight schedule. Only able to exchange brief greets during quick breaks of packaged meals.
You sink deeper into his arms as he rests his face against your neck. Enjoying the warmth generated between your two bodies, coaxing the exhaustion away from each other’s limbs.
‘I miss you.’ A silent sentiment wordlessly conveyed by the extended entanglement.
“You didn’t eat dinner yet.”
Alhaitham lets a soft chuckle escape in the form of a quick huff, how perceptive you are when it comes to his well-being.
“Skipping meals isn’t healthy,” You scolded as a finger jabbed against his shoulder.
“I’m aware.”
“Good, the noodles should be ready by now, c’mon.”
Reluctantly, Alhaitham allows you out of his arms, letting his heavy body follow your tugging hands toward the old and stained kitchen table.
Teal eyes notice the freshly placed cups of noodles, steam leaking out from the sides of their paper lids held down by two forks.
“It’s the fourth night we’ve had cup noodles this week.” He states the obvious.
“So?” You quirk a brow at his announcement.
“We’ll get sodium poisoning.”
“It’s fine, Haitham, our bodies are young, we'll live.”
“And these choices will come back to bite us in the future.”
“Shush and eat your food.” You plotted down at your spot at the chipped table, cheek puffed out.
An absolutely endearing sight. So much so that Alhaitham will rein in his sardonic quips for now, joining you in his spot just across the stained surface.
Ripping the flimsy top off the styrofoam cup, the artificial chicken flavoring sedates his ravenous appetite as he takes a bite.
A sacred respite for any student on a tight budget, empty calories that suppress the growling of stomachs.
From across the table, his teal gaze watches as you savor your last bite.
“You can have the rest of mine.”
“No, you’re a growing boy, you need to eat.”
“The male body fully develops by age eighteen-”
“Shush and eat your food.”
Your soft lips formed a frown once again, how could he not cave into your demands? Alhaitham takes another bite of the noodles.
In just a few more semesters he’ll get his hands on a flimsy piece of paper, proving his qualifications to some white-collar job.
He'll earn a paycheck big enough to treat you to a nice steak basted with red wine.
Away from this cluttered box with creaky floors and rumbling pipes.
Then after a few years, the two of you could follow a realtor through a spacious house atop a hill, yard fenced in nicely, and located a reasonable distance away from the bustling city.
Just endure the endless assignments and demanding exams for a little while longer.
Styrofoam cups carelessly thrown into the trash, forks washed and set out in the drying wrack. The minimal effort of house cleaning was achieved.
As a reward, two figures found themselves pulled back to the worn cushions of a couch. Melting into each other's touches, fingertips trying to memorize every curve and edge.
From outside a window left ajar, its hinges rusted with age and neglect, came the first symphony of the crickets. Singing to celebrate the new season which breathes back life into the trees and their leaves.
Your hands tenderly cupped his face pulling him closer, cheeks touching as your noses perfectly rested against each other.
The leaden weight pulling on his eyelids returned, head dozing into your gentle warmth.
“I love you.” Your whisper so soft it was almost lost in the wind.
Fighting against the droopy pull, his sight centered on your content expression, tranquil gaze reflecting the teal of his irises as you await his response.
Alhaitham’s firm arms pulled your frame flushed against his, burying his face back into the crook of your neck. Deep breath intaking the light fragrance which held hints of a sunny day.
“I love you… to the extent it’s unfathomable.” His full truth.
A truth that couldn’t be left untold.
“Pfft! You and your fancy words again,” you giggled.
The tickling sensation of your bell-like giggles vibrating against his frame cause the corners of his lips to curl.
Your fingers found their way to his ashen hair, tracing faint patterns along his scalp as you tussled his messy locks.
Mesmerizing motions making him lose the battle with the sweet call of sleep. The stone-faced man allowing your trailing fingers to beckon him deeper into the temperate waves of dreams.
Tumblr media
Alhaitham’s eyes opened again, lids dawdlingly fluttering open and shut again as the rolling credits of tonight’s spontaneous episode played against the glass screen.
His arms rested unfurled by his sides, nothing in the space against his cold hands.
Closing his eyes shut once more, efforts now conflicted between prying open the doors of sleep to plunge back into the cloudy waters of dreams or blinking the lingering traces away.
Lungs not daring to take another breath in case they distract from the task at hand.
1… 2… 3
A low sigh leaves his lips, ashen lashes opening up to observe the teal eyes staring back from the dark credit screen.
It seems the keeper of dreams felt this vile creature has overstayed his welcome for tonight.
Locking up the iron gates as they stood mockingly on the other side dangling the key between their fingers.
It doesn’t matter. The dream has already served its purpose. Allowing Alhaitham to say the lines in a script that he wasn’t able to complete in time.
It made the void ache just a bit less.
It seems that Alhaitham has unraveled the truth behind your daydreaming habits.
The itch in his palm has long faded away, the ailment cured by clarity only attainable after one processes the cold truth. Analytical mind returning to rationality untainted by the desperation of false hope.
To be condemned to forever wheeze at each gasp of air, to be bound to a bed by agony searing your every cell. Who is willing to pay the price of eternity?
Stopping the hands of a clock wouldn’t be much different than a punishment delivered from the deepest depths of hell.
How could mortal medicine ever turn back the hands of a clock? Simple, it can’t.
Nothing can.
To forever freeze a sinking ship between the thundering skies of life and the endless pits of death, doomed to never drown but never be resuced for eternity.
A fate worse than anything on the two polar opposite sides.
It’d be plain cruel. Childishly cruel.
Alhaitham wouldn’t do that to you, he couldn’t do that to you.
Instead, he simply held your hand tight. Taking away any fear, any anxieties, any regrets as your body sank deeper beneath the waves, until the furrow between your brows disappeared.
Watching the peace gracing your features as your head descends into the murky depths.
Letting your fingers slip through the gaps in his as he stays atop his floating raft of immortality.
Letting your gold bands catch on each other one last time. Letting the laws of nature and unnamed gods pull you away from his side, forever concealing you behind a wall he’ll never be able to peer over.
As it was fated to be, he knows.
If you had a healthy body, one that could live up to 80 years… maybe a little more, you wouldn’t have chosen him.
You never would’ve signed a contract.
You never would’ve cast a passing glance at him on the street.
You would’ve embraced another, one who could walk hand and hand with you through the garden gates.
You didn’t ask to be born with that body, and he didn’t ask to be born with his.
Paths predestined at birth to never fully merge, a wall forever dividing them.
Yet, during the brief time they touched, the scenery was breathtaking.
If he had finite time, a body exhausted by late nights of piled-up assignments, with nothing but twenty mora to his name.
He’d choose that over sitting in an empty house with luxurious furniture, excessive assets sitting to rot in bank vaults, and a silk-covered bed too big for a singular body.
He’d choose to be the one who could walk through the gates of the Pardis Dhyai, hand and hand with you.
--
Only in a mirage could that exist.
Sitting across a small kitchen table, him with his instant coffee, you with your dining hall stolen tea.
Notepad given out by some random campus event being scribbled on. Ballpoint pen jotting down the items carefully calculated: Milk, eggs, and more cup noodles.
Only in a dream could he sit in the bright rays of a star, enjoying its warmth side by side with you.
Alhaitham shuts off the TV, the greeting songs of birds from outside closed curtains now creeping through.
Slowly his frame emerges from its sedentary position, the dust cloth long forgotten to the side.
A sofa is no proper place to rest. Maybe clean sheets can replicate the purpose of cold dirt.
Such futile thoughts, unbefitting of such a noble creature.
But, he's been craving sleep lately, longing for the warmth of a fantastical sun.
Fin~

Alexander Miles, a prominent African-American inventor of the late 19th century, is best known for his groundbreaking invention - elevator doors that could open and close automatically. This invention transformed the safety of elevator rides, with automatic doors now considered a standard feature in modern elevators.
Born on May 18, 1838, in Circleville, Ohio, Alexander Miles was the son of Michael and Mary Miles. As a young adult, he relocated to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he worked as a barber throughout the 1860s. It was while living in Winona, Minnesota, in 1870, that he met Candace J. Dunlap from New York City, who later became his wife. After the birth of their daughter, Grace, the family moved to Duluth, Minnesota.
In Duluth, Miles enjoyed significant success as a barber, setting up a barbershop in the four-story St. Louis Hotel. He smartly invested his savings into purchasing a real estate office. His business acumen led to him becoming the first Black member of the Duluth Chamber of Commerce. In 1884, Miles constructed a three-story brownstone building in an area that later came to be known as the “Miles Block.”
While taking elevator rides in his buildings, Miles noticed the dangerous risks associated with manually operated elevator shaft doors being left open. Determined to solve this problem, he invented a mechanism that allowed elevator shaft doors to operate at the correct times. The mechanism, which involved a flexible belt attached to the elevator cage touching drums positioned along the elevator shaft, automated the elevator doors through a series of levers and rollers. On October 11, 1887, Alexander Miles was granted a patent for his life-saving invention (U.S. Patent 371,207).
In 1899, Miles and his family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he started The United Brotherhood, a life insurance company for Black customers who were denied coverage by White-owned firms. Eventually, Miles relocated to Seattle, Washington. Prior to his death on May 7, 1918, he was considered the wealthiest Black person in the Pacific Northwest area, largely due to the income from his invention. In recognition of his contributions, Alexander Miles was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2007.

When you like boys that are short! (Yandere! Genshin!)
Tumblr media
characters from:
part 1:
Mondstadt: Rosaria, Amber, Kaeya, Albedo
Liyue:, Shenhe, Xiangling, Zhongli, Xiao
part 2:
Inazuma: Ayato, Thoma, Gorou, Kazuha, Raiden Ei, Kuki Shinobu, Yae Miko
part 3:
Sumeru: Tighnari, Cyno, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Dehya, Candace, Nilou…
Im sorry for not translating the last part of Alhaitham!!! I write this in other account in Portuguese, but I forgot to translate
Tumblr media
KAVEH
Kaveh is like his kind best friend who is always there for you, he made a point of making it clear in his friendship, after all, with your trust in him, you would certainly love him at some point. The conversation ends up being related to dating and your type of man, making you anxious, nervous and quite curious about what you would say.
“I like short boys... like Tighnari... but don't tell him!"
He is quite surprised when he hears you say that he likes lower boys, his heart hurts and he doesn't accept so well the fact that you like Tighnari more just for something so... frivolous. It bothers him, it hurts him, and he's hating it! Kaveh can't just change his height to meet his standards, he wants to, but he knows it's not possible.
Kaveh tries his best to make you change your patterns, showing that it's very superficial to like people just by the height, but it's difficult. Because he doesn't want to hurt or hurt you, maybe, maybe.... He needs to get rid of someone...
Tumblr media
ALHAITHAM
Okay, your friendship is strange, because it is you who talks the most and starts the matters, but on that day, you were in love and admiring General Mahamatra from afar, of course he would notice and without stalling, Alhaitham asked why you were looking at him that much. That bothered him a lot, his look was not a simple admiration... no, there was something more. A "something" that he really wanted not to be true.
So hearing you say the painful words, "I like him", hurt him, but he did not express it on his face, always stoic and expressionless. The worst of all was hearing you say that you liked him mainly for something as superficial as height?! No, no, Alhaitham won't let you keep thinking like that! Don't you see how stupid you are?
Alhaitham told you, almost a speech or a lecture about how stupid your kind of man is, if you were sure you liked Cyno, now there is no more. He will use all the words, the possible manipulations to make you change your thinking, to like him and only him.
Tumblr media
CANDACE
You, a student at the Academy, were passing through Vila Aaru and met Candace, she simply fell in love with you and was a little direct, asking if you liked someone in particular and the reason for it. Upon hearing that it was something only based on height, her face showed confusion and Candace asked if you were sure you liked Wanderer just for that reason. You had told her that he was rude and mean to almost everyone, and yet you liked him?!
She is using this as an argument for you to change your mind, based on how much you told her about this Wanderer guy. You said he was rude and mean, that's a great reason why you don't like him. Candace makes you believe that appearance and height do not matter, and yes, the kind personality like hers, not that of this guy named Wanderer!
Tumblr media
DEHYA
Dehya always accompanied you when she went to see animated dance and accompanied you when you tried to imitate the steps, observing everything as a cute admiration for the dancer, Dehya was focused only on her fun and her smile while trying to dance too, "cute", she thinks with a smile. That's why she was a little surprised when you said you liked Nilou, she knew you admired the dancer, but not to the point of loving.
Dehya thought of several qualities that Nilou had, beauty, she was graceful in her steps, fun, cute, intelligent, empathetic, beautiful... Most related to personality, she expected everything except the fact of height. Dehya was surprised, looked at you as if asking "is this serious?". Dehya smiled at you and provoked you a little, but also tried to give you a sermon about liking people just by appearance or height, it's something stupid, you know?! In addition, you need an experienced person in the desert and strong just like Dehya! After all, you mainly explore the desert in your studies, Nilou does not know how to defend himself in the desert, but guess who knows?! Dehya!

I've been wanting to write this for a while now -
God! Reader who stims + Headcanons
Idea by: @karmawonders (please check out their blog too!!)
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Reader's pronouns: -
Notes: implied neurodivergent reader & characters, self-indulgent, includes personal headcanons
------------------------------
Candace sat on your bed, legs dangling over the edge. She had turned to her left to face you - you lay on your side, huddled underneath your blanket and cuddling a pillow. The two of you chatted idly, till you blinked sleepily and yawned, rubbing at your eye.
"Are you going to sleep now, Your Grace?" Candace asked softly.
You nodded, grabbing your blanket and pulling it up to your nose. You breathed in deeply, rubbing the fabric between your fingers as you did so.
You noticed Candace looking at you curiously. "Don't mind me...I'm just stimming," you mumbled, rubbing the blanket against your nose.
The look on Candace's face turned into one of realisation. She nodded in response and ran her fingers through your hair gently. "Sweet dreams, Your Grace," she whispered.
You hummed quietly and continued to breathe in the scent of your blanket.
Candace left your room after giving you one last pat on the head.
----------
You were walking in the streets of Fontaine, with Navia keeping you company. Glancing at the various shops and wares available, you hummed any song that you could think of every time your eyes settled on something new that reminded you of them.
A few minutes later, you looked to your side and saw Navia staring at you with a soft gaze and a smile (she probably had been doing so for at least ten minutes). You froze momentarily, and your humming halted as well.
"Is everything alright, Your Grace?" Navia asked.
"Everything's okay, but why were you staring at me?" You asked. "If it's because of my humming, then... I'm sorry. I'll stop."
"That's because I love to hear you hum!" Navia replied. "It's okay, you can continue humming. It's not annoying at all. It's really nice."
You grinned at Navia gratefully before continuing to hum. You noticed that Navia bobbed her head occasionally or matched the clicks of her boots as she walked according to your hums.
----------
You were hanging out with Heizou for today, and the both of you decided to have lunch at Uyuu Restaurant.
While he was waiting for the food to be served, Heizou heard some soft clicks. He looked at you and saw you resting your hands against the edge of the table. You were picking at your fingernails and the skin of your fingers.
"Your Grace." Heizou's voice caught your attention. You looked up and saw him staring into your eyes. "Please stop doing that."
"Oh - I'm sorry!" You quickly put your hands on your knees, gripping them so that you wouldn't pick at your fingers. "Those clicks sound annoying; I know. I'm really sorry."
"No, that's not the problem," Heizou said, leaning forward slightly. "The problem is, it's bad for you. I understand that you're just stimming, but that's an unhealthy stim." He stood from his original seat and moved around the table to sit next to you, reaching out with one hand, palm facing upward. "May I please have a look at your hand?"
Reluctantly, you placed your hand in his, showing him your uneven nails. Heizou sighed and rubbed his thumb against them.
"There's nothing wrong with stimming, Your Grace, but please don't hurt yourself while you stim," he said. "Here, you can play with this." He undid the black pom-pom attached to his clothing and pressed it onto your palm.
----------
Headcanons:
Kaeya whistles to stim. Please teach him all of the songs you know; in return, he'll teach you all of the Teyvat songs he knows. He wants to whistle along with your songs while you hum.
Klee has a comfort blanket that she cuddles to sleep every night. She's so happy to know that you have the same way of stimming as her! She's heard a lot of adults saying things like "kids should outgrow their habit of having comfort blankets when they grow up", so please assure her that it's not true.
Shenhe rubs her sleeves when she's stressed or nervous. You'll see her doing so when she's in a crowd, or before she wants to talk to you. Just like Klee, she needs assurance that stimming isn't bad, as some people still give her weird looks when she does so.
Beidou whistles to stim as well. Unlike Kaeya, she doesn't whistle when you hum. She likes to imitate the calls of all kinds of birds. Sometimes a bird or two will swoop down from the air to land on her shoulder or hand after hearing her whistles.
Yuegui is Yaoyao's stim toy. She always holds it in her arms so that she can give it a squeeze now and then, or breathe in the smell of osmanthus flowers on it. Yuegui makes her feel safe - it was originally made by Cloud Retainer to protect her, after all.
Sara likes to run her fingers through her feathers. She just materialises her wings and brushes them with her hand, albeit only when there's very few people around. When she's in public, she chews on the inside of her mouth.
Kirara waves her tails back and forth. Some people tell her to stop because they keep seeing something (her tails) swishing in their peripheral vision when she stims - they say that it's annoying. Please tell them off, pat Kirara on the head and tell her that it's okay to stim.
Collei fiddles with the tassels of her shawl while patrolling or learning new words. When she's at home, where she doesn't have to be cautious all the time, Cuilen-Anbar is her comfort "blanket". (Inspired by that one cutscene where Collei cuddles Cuilen-Anbar while sleeping)
Wanderer may not admit it, but he stims too! He used to fiddle with his vision only when he's 100% sure there's no one around. Similar to Sara, his stimming behaviour was very subtle in public - he rubbed his fingers against his sleeves whenever he crossed his arms over his chest. He's actually quite relieved when you tell him that stimming in front of others is totally fine.
Lynette stims by playing with her ponytail. She does it every time before a performance. Sometimes she twists her ponytail, sometimes she runs her fingers through it, sometimes she curls a strand of it around her finger. Occasionally, Lyney has to help her undo the knots in her hair 5 minutes before he has to go on stage.
------------------------------
I love my stim toys hehe
It's okay for anyone to stim as long as you don't hurt anyone, including yourself!

Asking For Her Affection
Tumblr media
Characters: Candace and Kokomi x GN!Reader.
Warnings: A very mild version of jealousy and possesiveness.
Notes: It's the first time I'm writing Candace, so I hope this a nice way to welcome her to my blog! I hope you enjoy this :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The air of the dessert is a little rough on your skin as you stroll through the village. It’s not something you despise. In fact, it adds to the charm of this beautiful place that you’ve learned to love. For it’s kind and hardworking people, for the stars in the bright sky at night, but most of all, for the woman who is gracefully walking next to you now.
You turn to her, a smile dancing on your lips as you see Candace. The people around stop to wave at her, saying words of appreciation or showing her a wound that healed nicely thanks to her advice. Candace’s eyes light up as she receives their words, her own smile the most precious treasure in this side of the desert.
As you watch her thrive among the praises and warm words for her, you feel your chest tighten with affection. You love her more than you can say, the threads of your heart pulling you closer to her until you’re holding her hand in yours. Candace watches you with a light flush as you press a kiss to her hand.
“Feeling affectionate, my heart?” Her smile is radiant, glowing and so familiar.
You kiss her hand again. Then, her arm. Her shoulder. You tug at her lightly so that she’s closer to you. Closer still.
“You could say that.” Your lips caress her skin so gently, almost like the drops of sand caressing the ground below. “Everyone loves you so much, but… I kinda want you all to myself right now.”
Candace’s eyes widen, just a little. She’s usually collected, but no one can read her subtle changes in expression better than you can, after all this time. The faint blush adorning her cheeks isn’t lost to you, either.
“Oh, darling… I’m just not sure this is the appropriate place for such affection.”
You can hear the embarrassment in her voice, just a little. That fuels something within you, a playful side that only comes out when she’s looking at you with those mismatched eyes full of poorly-concealed emotions. You insist.
“Come on, it will be alright.” Your hand  travels up her arm, her shoulder, tracing the line of her clavicle, incessant. “Don’t you want everyone to know how much I adore you?”
You watch the hesitance cross her beautiful eyes, and you wait for the glimpse of her smile. Instead, she shakes her head, lowering your hand with an apologetic stare.
“You know I appreciate your affection endlessly, my heart, but I prefer keeping our love private. I hope you understand."
She says, but you’re still feeling the playful tug in your chest. You pout, hoping to bribe her with your most endearing act. It has worked more times than you thought it would, truthfully.
Candace watches your expression and her eyes soften around the corners.
"Alright, alright, you win. No need to pout, my dear. I'll give you a kiss when we get home. No, I will give you as many as you desire. Will that suffice?"
She graces your hand with soft fingers, light like the morning breeze over the slopes of the desert, but it’s still not enough.
Just then, you spot Dehya sitting at the tavern you’re just passing by, and a mischievous thought crosses your mind. You really don’t fight the urge.
“If it isn’t Dehya in the flesh,” you begin with a grin, you approach your old friend, leaning over her with glistening eyes. “Would you mind if I sat with you for a minute? In fact, would you mind if I sat on your lap, my friend?”
Dehya’s eyes widen in surprise. You watch her cheeks grow a darker shade, her hand frozen over holding her drink. Before she can reply, you place yourself on her lap, wrapping your arms around her neck, just like you had wanted to do with Candace. Though this time, you exaggerate your movements. You know she’s watching.
Dehya swallows, her voice faint with confusion when she says, “Uh… Sure?”
From the corner of your eye, you watch Candace’s reaction. You find delight in the way her eyes seem to open further, watching you rest your weight on someone that isn’t her. Her mismatched eyes flash with emotions— Amusement, jealousy, and perhaps even a hint of possessiveness. You’re thrilled.
After a few more empty words exchanged with Dehya, you get off her lap and bid her farewell, leaving her stunned and even more flustered. You will buy her a drink later on to make up for the scene you did today.
Grinning from ear to ear, you return to Candace. The playful sigh that leaves her lips is music to your ears.
“Alright, I see what you did there.” She says, giving in and interlacing her fingers with yours. You notice her touch tightening around you, the possessiveness leaking through her perfectly-crafted expression of calmness. You really are delighted. “You win this time.”
Pulling her close, you can’t help but press a kiss on her lips, palming her face with your free hand. Your voice is nothing but sweet when you whisper, “I love you and only you, my dear. I hope you know that.”
And you watch Candace defrost in your hands, her eyes swelling with the same affection that you feel for her.
She smiles, realizing that even though she might feel shy about displaying affection in public, she really can’t resist your playful charm when you make good use of it.
From that day forward, you find a balance between private and public displays of affection, strengthening your bond and making each other feel loved in every possible way, and you adore every single second of it.
Tumblr media
The air is salty and the ocean breeze carries the delightful laughter of Kokomi as you walk down the bustling island of Watatsumi.
Hand in hand, you enjoy the moment sharing stories and comfortable discussions about any given topic you can think of, your mind and heart at ease with your girlfriend by your side. Part of you knows that she’s not prone to being too affectionate in public, but the other more insistent part of you is really resisting the urge to shower her gentle hands and her lovely features with your loving kisses. You’re trying very hard, honest.
But when you pass by a quaint teahouse, the surroundings less crowded, you can’t help but lean in to her. You place a strand of soft pink hair behind her ear, whispering all too close to her,
“My love… Wouldn't it be fun to steal a kiss right here?"
Kokomi chuckles softly, the beautiful sound echoing through the chambers of your rose-colored heart, and you drink in the embarrassment that blooms in her cheeks at your proximity.
"As much as I'd love to, my dear, I prefer to keep our affection private."
How delightfully disappointing. You tug on her hands, your affection pouring out of you and seeking release. Your voice is a soft thing in her ears.
“Just a little kiss, my dear? No one will notice, I promise.”
But Kokomi shakes her head gently, locks of beautiful pink hair cascading down her back as she speaks, formal and polite and righteous as ever.
"I'm sorry, my love. I'm the Sangonomiya Clan's Divine Priestess, and maintaining a certain image is essential. It's not that I don't want to, but… I do have responsibilities to uphold. You know this."
“Is that how it is…”
For a moment, you’re torn between dropping the subject and teasing her further. But just then, you see a familiar face from the corner of your eye, and you suddenly have no say in the matter.
Your lips curve into a mischievous smile.
“Oh, look! There's Ayaka!” You wave at her enthusiastically, watching her kindly wave back at you, a polite smile dancing on her lips. You wink at Kokomi. "I wonder if she would grant me a little favor."
“What are you—”
You don’t give her the chance to finish the sentence. With quick steps, you’re soon next to Ayaka, playfully taking her hands in yours. Your eyes are a dangerous thing.
“Ayaka, may I have a kiss? Just one, I wouldn’t dare take more from you.”
Ayaka’s face is bright red in an instant. From her neck to the tips of her ears, you find amusement in the deep shade of scarlet that colors her skin, more than taken aback from your unexpected request.
“I— I am— I mean, you— Um—!”
She stammers, and you can’t help the chuckle that leaves your lips. Still with her hands in yours, you raise them up to your lips. Softly, you press a kiss to her gentle skin, leaving her more than flustered.
“There.” Your smile is sweet, innocent even. You let go of her altogether. “Just one, as I promised. I won’t trouble you further, my lady.”
And, with that, you turn on your heels and leave an incredibly flustered Ayaka catching her breath, light in the head.
Going back to Kokomi with a playful grin, you can’t help but notice the protective expression in her eyes. For a moment, you’re afraid you might’ve gone too far with this.
“I was playing, Kokomi. You know I only have eyes for y—”
Kokomi grabs the hem of your shirt and presses her mouth to yours, her lips finding yours with urgency. You close your eyes and let her have her way with you for those seconds that last a lifetime, almost. Then, she pulls away from you, cheeks flustered, brow furrowed.
“Just this once.” The possessiveness in her voice delights you to no end. “But don’t do that again. Promise me.”
And you soften, wanting nothing more than giving her everything she possibly asks of you.
“I promise you, my heart.” Now it’s her hands you’re kissing. Tender, affectionate, not enough for you, just enough for her. “You’re the only one for me, Kokomi.”
You listen to her laugh softly, and your heart soars, relieved that it was all in good fun.
"You know you're the only one for me too, my love.” She strokes your hand lightly. “I adore you, and I'm glad you understand why I can't be too affectionate in public."
And you choose to understand this time, because you love her more than words can say, and sometimes loving means compromising, too.
"Of course, my heart. Your responsibilities are important, and I respect that. Besides, I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable.” Your lips grow into a smile, genuine in the motion. “Our love is special, no matter where we are."
Just like that, you continue your walk. As you make your way home, Kokomi leans in and presses a gentle peck on your cheek, a sweet compromise between public decorum and her affection for you, too.
And you can’t help but feel that there is a loving happiness in balance.

"King Killmonger: The Golden Jaguar" Chapter 5

"We hope each soul will find
Around and inside
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer, just like every child
Need to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe"
Avery Wilson & Candace Boyd—"The Prayer"
Yani held onto the hand of her baby sister Anika, as her middle sister Dawnette gushed over meeting Tahir. Anika told their entourage of women—Twyla, Zola, Ilana—the story of Killmonger and Tahir spending the night at their Aunt Leona's cramped apartment when she was sixteen and impressionable. But now that she was in her early twenties and legal, she had the right of first dibs on the handsome foreigner to Wakanda.
They entered the banquet venue's snazzy restroom where a full sitting room/powder room was set up before one even made it to the restrooms in a separate section. Checking their make-up and showering the room with their loud gossip over men and available bachelors, Yani noticed Ime in a corner with four other women seated on plush chairs chatting. Anika and Dawnette followed Twyla into the restroom to relieve themselves of wine and other spirits passed around for the after dessert libations. Yani took note of a few other noblewomen clucking together in their various groupings parceled about using wall mirrors to fix hair, and check make-up.
It was obvious that women snuck glances at Yani and she smiled while passing others to get to Ime.
"Princess Yani," Ime said.
Ime stood quickly and her friends did too, showing Yani respect.
"Leave us please…I would like to speak with Ime," Yani said.
Zola and Ilana walked away and kept watch over her for any intrusions.
"Shall we chat for a moment?" Yani said.
Ime nodded and Yani led her to some chairs in a corner that faced away from the other women in the room giving them some privacy.
"I wanted to talk to you about our relationship going forward. After I marry King N'Jadaka, I will be having a series of special events throughout Birnin Zana. Private teas, luncheons, and of course, the Queen's Ball. You and I will see a lot of each other because of Ramatla's position working for my husband."
"Of course."
Ime's voice was sweet as pie, but Yani wasn't keen on her maintaining a façade any longer.
"I know you don't like me. No need for us to pretend that you give a fuck about what I think about you."
Ime's eyes widened and several women within hearing distance moved away quickly to avoid catching strays. Hushed voices spread throughout the powder room and every woman not connected to Yani or Ime vacated the premises immediately. Zola and Ilana strolled over to the restroom toilet entrance to provide interference in case their party came out.
Ime pulled her shoulders back and lifted her head higher. She regarded Yani as a worthy adversary. Her mask fell away.
"It is true. I do not like you. You aren't fit to be queen—"
"You uncouth bitch!" Zola snapped.
Ilana held Zola back.
"I'm a bitch?" Ime said, slanting her gaze toward Zola. "You disloyal witches were so quick to scuttle over to her side that you threw away years of our friendship…and for what? A chance to be around the king?"
Yani glanced at Zola and Ilana. Ime craned her neck back and folded her arms over her chest. Her gaze burned into Yani's face.
"Do you know how many eligible women here that are better than you who would kill to have N'Jadaka Udaku?" Ime said.
"I know you are one of them," Yani said.
Ime didn't flinch. Her lips twisted into a devilish smirk.
"You are damn right. I was one of those women. Had you or that other one not showed up, I'd be in your place right now."
"Listen to this hussy!" Zola hissed.
Yani held up her hand to silence Zola.
Twyla, Anika and Dawnette wandered back in.
"What's going on?" Twyla asked, quickly sizing up the tension.
"Twyla, would you mind taking my sister's back to our party? I need to talk to Lady Ime in private," Yani said.
Twyla took the hint and gathered up the younger women toward the exit. Zola and Ilana followed behind to block anyone else from entering. Yani leaned her left arm over her right on the armrest and crossed her legs.
"I will be queen soon, so any dreams or aspirations you bad minded bitches had about N'Jadaka are over fuh good. I'll fuck up anyone who tries tuh come for we…even Remy."
Ime huffed and jumped to her feet. Yani's chest burned. She took her time standing up like a powerful royal woman with the highest status in the land shared with her man.
"This hatred yuh have in your heart…keep it or throw it away. I don't care. You mean nothing to me. However, we both have a duty to our country—"
"You are not a real Wakandan, Yani Galiber. You are a fake. A blight on the bloodline. You think your position is safe just because you will marry him tomorrow? Hmmph. Then you don't truly know the history of Udaku men. They have an appetite…a lust for life that you could never satisfy as an outsider. No Wakandan man in his right mind would see you as any kind of prize."
"Well, your man has a taste for me, so I can't be all that bad."
Ime's eyes narrowed and her right hand went up high to strike Yani.
"Ime stop!"
Remy's voice rattled them both. He grabbed Ime's arm and pulled her away before her hand connected with Yani's face.
"My apologies Princess Yani. She has disrespected you and I am…embarrassed by this."
Ime snatched her arm away. Her cold eyes had gone beyond jealous hatred. There was envious murder lodged in them too. Yani took a step back sensing an uncontrollable rage flowing through her nemesis. Remy struggled to get Ime's hand back down to her side. She stuck a finger in Yani's direction.
"You aren't special. He will get bored with you…you are nothing like us…"
Ime vomited hatred with her words, and Yani stood strong with a half smile on her face, allowing the woman to get everything off of her chest right then and there. Had Yani worn her finger armor that night, there would've been deep bloody holes in Ime's face. She kept a rigid posture despite her blood pressure going up. A physical entanglement would only fuel the fire of other nobles who felt the same as Ime. Her throat tightened and she parceled her words carefully. Yani's mind screamed to revoke Ime's wedding invitation, but she wanted the woman to watch her nuptials and squirm about it. Diplomacy and tact were the order of the evening.
"Lady Ime, I appreciate your honesty. You have never minced your words, so I will not run around the bush with mine. King N'Jadaka and I are one blade."
Ime's eyes narrowed hearing the euphemism. Remy watched Yani's face with an apprehensive expression. Had it been a club in St. Thomas back when she kept a reckless mouth, Yani would not hesitate to let all of the noble women know she was a good pussy gyal. They way N'Jadaka carried on in her pum pum was all the evidence she needed. The elites could come for Yani all they wanted, but that bad man from the hill wasn't going anywhere.
She took a step forward and Remy repositioned his left foot in front of the tips of her shoes to create a barrior between the two women. Biting back the rancor in her throat and the urge to call Ime a heavy-tongued cow foot whore, she opted to act her position.
"Your campaign to vilify me or make me feel less worthy of the throne has failed. You can't have N'Jadaka, so you go for Remy. The way I hear it, you backstabbed your best friend to get him…so if I were you Ime, I would worry about repairing my social reputation instead of coming for a queen. Good luck with this one, Remy. It's a pity that your family settled for this waste gyal as your future wife—"
Ime lunged for Yani. Remy became a shield. He hugged Yani and protected her body from Ime's attack. Ilana and Zola rushed over and yanked Ime into a corner, pushing her back against a wall mirror. They shoved her shoulders and cursed in her face to keep her from going up against Yani again.
"Please forgive her…I'm sorry for everything," Remy pleaded.
He held Yani's shoulders and she could feel his warm breath blow across her lips. From the reflection in the mirror behind him, Yani noticed N'Jadaka walking in with Twyla. Remy's hands dropped away from her body quickly, but N'Jadaka saw it all. Ilana rushed to the king's side and whispered something to him before he reached their side of the powder room. He moved like a stalking cat toward Ime afterward, ignoring Remy and Yani completely. Zola stepped to the side giving N'Jadaka space. Ime cowered before the man she desired above all others.
Everyone remained silent. N'Jadaka's smoldering presence held them all in a chokehold. Ime trembled.
"Look at me," N'Jadaka commanded.
Ime turned her head to the side and refused to do so. N'Jadaka crowded her body and Yani knew exactly how that felt up close. The heat. The crackling energy. The sexual prowess. It was too much to process all at once, and for a mere second, Yani pitied Ime. Her greatest desire was right in front of her and she couldn't even look at him.
"Don't make me repeat myself."
"King N'Jadaka, I beg…let me remove her from your presence. She has been drinking—"
"Do you have permission to speak to me?"
N'Jadaka didn't bother to look at Remy. His voice boomed and the message was received.
Stand down.
Ime lifted her head. Watery eyes peered at the king.
"I don't normally get into women's business, but I warned you once about bothering her, so now I will give you a choice. Get on your knees in front of her and beg forgiveness for your insolence or I will strip you from your title and make life hell for your entire family."
Ime jammed her back against the mirror with horror dripping from her eyes.
"She accosted me…I was minding my own business with friends," Ime whined.
"Ime…just do it. Stop making this worse for yourself. If you have no title, we cannot marry," Remy said.
The tears fell then. Ime wiped at her eyes as if her own body betrayed her. Yani slipped her hand around N'Jadaka's.
"Let it be. She's drunk and we know how powerful the drinks have been tonight. We need to leave for rest. Our wedding will be here soon, king," Yani said.
Mercy.
That is what Yani gave Ime. Although it would've been a sight to see Ime groveling at her feet, Yani wanted to be above the woman in the best way. Knowing N'Jadaka showed his trump card, she doubted Ime would get out of line ever again. The threat of losing a title was worse than going to hell in Wakanda.
The king allowed Yani to lead him away from Ime, and Remy rushed to her side, throwing an arm around his fiancé's waist. He guided her quivering form away from certain banishment. Twyla wandered over.
"Gossip has already spread outside. When you walk out of here, look cheerful like nothing happened," Twyla said.
Strolling hand-in-hand with Twyla cracking a joke, they left the powder room laughing. Their performance was good enough to get them past a few people, but it was clear the mood had shifted in the banquet room toward her. The upper class were shook to their core. No one was safe if the king jumped for Yani like that in public.
Yani gathered up her children with Leona and Dante's help, and they all bid farewell to the hosts and their dinner companions from the center table. Couples were still dancing and liquor still flowed and would do so into the night. Nobles from all the tribes rushed up to Yani and wished her a good evening, hoping that she graced them with her sweet voice and a smile. N'Jadaka shook hands and accepted congratulations for their upcoming nuptials once more. She waved at her favorite people throughout the banquet room while Zola and Ilana stayed close with her sisters in tow.
N'Jadaka held Yani's and Joba's hand until they were outside the venue boarding a different vehicle with the children by themselves. Yani turned on the sound-proof barrier for the back seat where Joba, Riki, and Sydette sat comfortably, their eyes drowsy from all the activity of the day. They spoke freely without their driver and guard hearing.
"I'm glad you didn't fight her physically," N'Jadaka said.
"Me too. It wouldn't be a good look for us, no matter how much she deserved to get boxed. She knows where I stand. That's the important thing when dealing with a yamhead gyal."
"Remy has a problem on his hands."
"You do too."
"How's that?"
Yani leaned into him and held onto his arm.
"According to her, you were supposed to be her betrothed if I hadn't showed up in Wakanda. Remy was her back up consolation prize."
The corners of his lips went down and his brows joined in the center.
"This caste culture is very particular, very selective of whom they pair couples. The more I learn, the more I see how dangerous it was for my father to choose my mother. Sometimes I think she would've received the same treatment."
"They aren't nice about my foreignness at all in Ime's cliques. She even insinuated that Ilana and Zola only came to me to get close to you."
"We know there are advantages being around me. But those two…," He gave a casual glance to to Yani, "Their hearts are in the right place. They adore you. I know they have crushes on me, but those are just harmless feelings. Most times I have to bargain with them just to get you to myself all alone."
Yani grinned and stroked a finger up and down his chest.
"Are you still going to your bachelor party tonight?" she asked.
"It's not a party. A little get together with the fellas."
"Where will you guys go?"
"We're staying in the palace. I have some food and drinks prepared up in the salon. We'll play cards, smoke cigars…catch up with my cousins. Nothing crazy."
"Strippers?"
Yani giggled and N'Jadaka put an arm around her pulling her into his side. Her breasts mashed into his chest.
"I've seen enough naked women in my life to last me. Every color, size, and from damn near every continent. I'd get bored watching some stranger shake ass for mere entertainment with a bunch of men. Smoking, drinking and shooting the shit is all I want to do. Besides…I have the baddest woman on the planet and I'll get my own private show after we get married."
She puckered her lips and he lowered his head to brush his mouth against hers.
They arrived in the palace parking structure at a reasonable hour. N'Jadaka carried Joba and Riki, while Yani carried Sydette in her arms. Back at their home, Kora helped guide the children away from the front door in their sleepy daze toward the stairs.
"I guess we have to say goodnight here," Yani said.
She wrapped her arms around N'Jadaka's waist and he held her close.
"Yep. I say goodbye to Princess Yani forever. I'll miss her."
They locked eyes, basking in the moment together.
"Thank you for never giving up on me…even when you thought I was gone forever. Thank you for making sure our children knew about me. Thank you for being the light that brought me back to myself…the light that showed me that I could find a perfect love in paradise. You have made this imperfect man so very happy."
"Thank you for coming into my life…thank you for believing in me and making sure I was taken care of even when you thought death was a possibility for yourself. Thank you for being the love of my life…choosing our precious Sydette as your own and giving me my beautiful son. Thank you for trusting me to raise a special extra daughter too. You have made this equally imperfect woman very happy too."
"Well shit, we might as well be married now. Sounded like we said some vows," he joked.
"I know. I'm actually happy that we don't have to say a lot tomorrow. I already feel like crying…"
"Aye girl…no tears…"
Yani buried her face in his chest and wept out her happiness. He rubbed her back with loving hands and cooed in her ear soft words of love.
"You are my life, baby."
He pulled away and kissed her forehead.
"Go on now, get some beauty rest. We all get to sleep in until twelve thirty. I shouldn't even be looking at you right now. We're supposed to stay separated," he said.
She held his hands, not wanting to let him go, not wanting to part from his warmth and strength. Staring into his eyes, she luxuriated in the overpowering essence of his presence the way Ime had experienced him up close. Yani still thrilled to his energy and aura. She pulled him in for a kiss…a long one. Their heads moved from side to side and his hands palmed her backside, squeezing the heavy orbs. His tongue explored and made promises for their wedding night. He kissed her woozy and she stepped back on weak legs. Her brain felt mushy and her body tingled all over. Especially down below.
"I should go now," he said.
"Okay."
Neither one of them left the front door.
"I have to change clothes for my bachelor party," he said.
"Hmmm."
His dimples and septum ring mesmerized her. The glint of his gold panther teeth held her captive when his lips parted in a gentle smile. The king's body heat wrapped her in a cocoon of love. His too-muchness enveloped all of her senses and she suppressed the urge to look away from his face.
N'Jadaka's kimoyo beads lit up breaking the spell for Yani.
"It's Mpilo…I betta dip. Can't be late to my own gathering," he said.
Yani moved away from him knowing that if he touched her again, she would pull him into their home and up to her bed.
"Love you," he said.
She blew him a kiss and dashed inside the front door, closing it quickly. Resting her back against it, she touched her face. It was hot and a light sheen of nervous sweat covered the back of her neck. She touched her stomach to calm the butterflies there. Lord…he still made her swoon like it was their first time together.
"Are you alright, Princess Yani?"
Sindiswa, the evening attendant for their home approached Yani with concern.
"I'm fine. Can you please bring me some bria tea and chocolate biscuits to my bedroom?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Yani climbed the stairs thinking of love, family, and finally having her happy new beginning with N'Jadaka.

Sunrises in Wakanda were a stunning tapestry painted with the delicate hand of Bast.
N'Jadaka rose early before the streaks of orange, rose, pale turquoise, and magenta saturated the horizon heralding the golden return of the sun.
He bathed in a wide tub filled with oils and herbs to purify his body for marriage. The humble priest Dinani waited for him on the balcony where they prayed together in the language of Bast, the ancient tongue that supported him through his transformation on the holy mountain. Ogum stirred in his chest and quickly rose to the crown of his head where the energies of two gods merged.
The ancestors rested within him.
Dinani and N'Jadaka's former temple caretaker Ayiz'e smudged him head to toe fully nude with river sage and more prayer work. As the sun rose, he watched it golden the sky while listening to a recording of a berimbau being played by his mother and a drum pounded by his Grandpop. He prepared his mind for hours of ceremony and honed in on Ayiz'e warming up a thick glob of ceremonial body butter in her hands. The pale yellow substance melted into clear oil and she rubbed it all over him, even his locs. It smelled wonderful, like citrus and honey. She knelt down and rubbed it on his buttocks and the back of his thighs. Dinani observed the preparation making sure no spot on his body was missed. Ayiz'e started rubbing the oil on his groin and when she stroked his flaccid penis and scrotum with it, Dinani held up a tied leather bundle about seven inches long.
"Kumkani, before you consummate your union with the new queen, you must remember to give Bast an offering of your semen first. Princess Yani has been trained properly to do this with you. We would all be pleased if you conceived a new heir on this night," Dinani said.
Ayiz'e finished oiling his nutsack and the front of his legs and feet.
"He is heavy with seed. We can expect plenty of blessings in the king's future," she said.
Dinani smiled.
"This is good to hear. It has been a long time since the royal family has had a bounty of children. Bast will be pleased with our king. We shall take our leave now until we see you at the wedding temple," Dinani said.
They left the suite and an attendant brought his early morning breakfast. Pork medallions, porridge sweetened with sugared red berries, buttery biscuits and slices of fresh fruit. He ate his meal alone on the balcony, calming his mind and the wedding jitters. The eagerness to be married right away already overwhelmed him. He wished they could skip all the ceremonial work, but the new marriage had to follow ancient Udaku customs.
Belly full and mind straight, he relaxed in bed for a short respite until it was time to dress. His wedding robes were brought to him and his personal stylist helped him dress. Ayiz'e returned to twist his locs into an elaborate bun with a few strands left to fall on his shoulders. She checked the wedding clothing front to back. His black opal ceremonial robes were blacker than an inky sky at midnight, but as he moved, the robes refracted an array of colors in blue, green, and silvery gray hues that looked like tiny galaxies bursting light in deep dark space.
"He is ready," she said.
Once more, she smudged him with a different bundle of dried plants that smelled spicy and sharp in the nose. It fit his personality. He sniffed it as she passed around him.
"You recognize it?"
He shook his head.
"Bast Root. It is the plant that we used for ceremonies before vibranium fell from the sky. This plant cradled the vibranium meteor when it landed. Bast led King Bashenga to it, and soon after, a patch of it mutated into the heart-shaped herb that we cultivate today. This original plant links us to our past because the Panther Goddess led us into our future. Smudging with it calls Bast and her sisters down to be with you on this day."
"I understand," he said.
Ayiz'e left his side and he stared at himself in the mirror.
"You truly are a king."
N'Jadaka turned his head and Dante walked forward.
"Your parents are with you…they can see how handsome you look, JaJa."
"I feel them."
"They came to me in a dream last night. All I could do was tell them how excited I was to watch you marry Yani, and they looked pleased. I woke up before I could remember what they said, but I'm sure it was something like 'We love you, son.' Their faces were so shiny…so close to me that I could touch them."
Dante touched N'Jadaka's shoulder and admired his wedding garb.
"Are the guys ready?" N'Jadaka asked.
"Waiting for you at the carport. Yani and the children have already left for the temple."
He took a deep breath and checked his clothing again. Dante tapped his arm.
"Come…let's go get your wife," Dante said.
N'Jadaka walked with his grandfather out of the suite. Four Dora Milaje and six kingsguards awaited him outside. They rode a private elevator down to an underground carport where his groomsmen stood near their vehicle transports wearing custom obsidian Wakandan suits that complimented N'Jadaka's robes.
"You look clean man!" Shawn said, giving N'Jadaka dap.
"Damn, I feel like royalty too," Walter said, showing off his outfit.
Tahir wore a custom suit that incorporated his cultural heritage into the design. Mpilo grinned from ear to ear in his own attire. Bibi shook N'Jadaka's hand and congratulated him on his day.
His older cousin, Junie paraded around in his suit.
"I think I ate too much last night," Junie said, patting his stomach.
"I think that fat has always been there," Bibi joked, poking Junie's round belly.
His cousin Nevaeh hugged him. She wore a long overcoat over her covered dress and would walk as his groomswoman carrying flowers to represent Marisol's missing presence. Yani's cousin Kendall was doing the same as a bridesman filling in the gap of missing family from the Galiber side. He would escort Nevaeh down the aisle.
"How are you feeling, JaJa?" Nevaeh asked.
"The nerves are kicking in a little bit, I'm not gonna lie," he said.
She kissed his cheek and wiped away the smudge of her lipstick.
"Are you ready to leave, kumkani?" a driver asked.
"Let's rock and roll," N'Jadaka said.
They split into three cars and N'Jadaka sat next to Dante.
The streets of Wakanda were jam packed with spectators who had lined up on every avenue and street corner waiting to catch sight of the royal family. Every inch of the city looked decorated and the festive energy of the citizens forced grins on all their faces in the cars. The wedding was the celebration the country needed after a tumultuous year adjusting to life removed from the Infinity War.
He watched people dance and throw flowers at the cars as they were whisked to the heart of the golden city where the temple waited. Traffic clogged up two blocks before they arrived at their destination, and they waited patiently for the kingsguards and the royal onyx squad to make way for their cars to get through.
They crossed through the gauntlet ten minutes late, but N'Jadaka didn't care about time. He stayed in the present moment, feeling all the feelings, letting the fervor of the crowd wash through him.
The ancient temple loomed in front of them. The last time they had been there was to reunite with his parents, but that sadness didn't linger over the ancient site. It beckoned to him with an ethereal beauty and gave him the gift of peace in his heart. His parents were there waiting to watch him wed. Their spirits hovered all around him.
Their vehicles were ushered into a covered parking structure on the west side of the temple entrance where his clan and extended family convened. Umama, Ramonda, and an army of other Udaku relatives stood waiting for him and his groomsmen.
"You look amazing Umama. You too, Ramonda," he said.
He hugged as many relatives as he could before a wedding director arrived and pulled him away from Soliel, Aujannue and Serah to give final instructions. Nevaeh's mother Rolita straightened the locs that tangled on his shoulders from all the hugging. The family drummers stood nearby waiting for their cue, and the family griot, his cousin Didah, walked in front of everyone carrying a centuries old staff that was carved with family sigils of protection. She touched the top of her forehead and took a deep breath before approaching N'Jadaka. He could feel the rising energy of his family behind him.
"Cousin N'Jadaka, the temple is packed. Your grandmother has permitted some people to stand in the back, so when we go in, please keep yourself in the center behind me at all times until we reach the front. The acting griot for the Galiber clan will come in right when the last of our family has been seated."
N'Jadaka nodded. He heard Didah's words, but his body sensed the anticipation inside the temple. Somewhere on the otherside of the structure, Yani was waiting for him. His heart thudded in his chest and his hands went clammy. Umama lifted his chin with her hand.
"Breathe, grandson…that's it. Relax and breathe."
Tunnel vision and anxiety ran through him. The overstimulation forced him to gulp in air. Serah clasped his hand and his Uncle Addae slipped next to him and gripped his elbow to steady him. N'Jadaka was about to ask for a chair to sit in, but a comforting warmth spilled down from the crown of his head and flowed to his feet. He closed his eyes. Her familiar scent came down on him the way it did when he used to cook in her kitchen when he was a little boy. Florida water.
Nana Jean.
"I'm glad you're here too," he whispered under his breath.
He knew his great-grandmother always stayed with him, but the scent of her protective potions surrounded him…grounded him. Standing tall, he shook his hands and prepared to swagger down the aisle so the world could see a king claiming his queen.
Didah gave him the biggest smile that rivaled the sun shining above them. She tilted her head back and burst into the first stanza of their family history and the drummers matched her strong voice as they pounded out the backing rythmn. His groomsmen and groomswoman were led away to join Yani's bridesmaids and bridesman to prepare for their entrance.
"I feel you all in me," N'Jadaka said out loud to his ancestors.
He held onto Dante's and Umama's hands and followed Didah out of the covered structure. The drummers controlled the pace of their trek around the temple and once they entered, N'Jadaka focused his eyes on Dinani the priest who waited for them at the front.
The temple overflowed with guests and their excited energy pushed against the king, adding an extra layer of sensory overload he tried to control. He was happy, so very happy, and every inch down the aisle heightened the experience. The piercing pride in Didah's voice carried him along as she sang out the story of the Udaku family leading the country for generations. Each time she named a queen or king, N'Jadaka felt their movement in his core as if they each tapped his soul to let him know they were walking beside him. He laughed out loud when Queen Shuriya's name was uttered. His greatest grandmother tickled the back of his neck and a vision of her clouded his eyes before the next name was called. His family gave a call and response with the drummers as they circled the temple allowing all the spectators to see the great King N'Jadaka in all his royal splendor. They made their way back up the aisle as his father's and mother's names were uttered. Umama let out a ululation that rippled through the family and N'Jadaka's knees almost buckled hearing the pain that was still in his grandmother's throat.
He closed his eyes when he felt a kiss from his mother on his temple and another kiss from his father on his forehead. He wiped his eyes and guided his elder relatives to their seats on a dais behind the priest. The rest of his family filled in the reserved seats in front of their guests.
N'Jadaka looked across the rows of guests and acknowledged the nearly nine hundred non-Udaku family members facing him. Sunlight filtered through the temple and illuminated the majestic indoor trees that created the canopy roof, their wide-sweeping branches intertwined with the solid pillars and Goddess statues making the atmosphere look surreal and holy. Didah and the drummers concluded their family song by highlighting N'Jadaka's bravery in protecting the people, and he danced entertaining the crowd. A few elderly Udaku aunts and uncles stood up and encouraged him to show out and he granted them a show. Umama and Dante hooted and hollered for him too. A bold drummer jumped in front of the king and pounded an extra rhythm for his feet and shoulders and he allowed his limbs to cut loose. The unseen Galiber clan called out his name loudly from the back announcing their entrance, and he ended his dancing by bowing to his grandparents. A riotous applause cascaded from the foreign guests in the audience.
Didah took her place behind him on the dais waiting for Yani's family griot to orate about her family.
The sound of clashing blades echoed from the far side of the temple. N'Jadaka waited with great anticipation. Kendall, and about fifteen of Yani's adult family members carried shiny cutlass blades and lit torches. They didn't use drums for a percussive sound, but sang acapella about Queen Mary, their history of enslavement and liberation using the acoustics of the ancient temple to echo the beauty of their combined voices. Leona walked among them lending her voice with her head held high wearing a strapless puffy champagne-colored gown decorated with tiny cutlass blades. Her salt and pepper hair was carefully decorated with Ginger Thomas flowers the official island flower from their home. Several young children and teenagers from their family followed along clapping to the beat and gazing at the wondrous beauty of the ancient temple.
Although Yani's family was small in number representing their clan in comparison to N'Jadaka's, they kept the guests spellbound listening to the story of their island roots and their connection to Africa through the diaspora. After singing the folk song of Queen Mary, Kendall took over the oral history and sang/rapped about their family. The other relatives stomped their feet and clapped their hands with percussive beats supporting his playful delivery of Caribbean history. The Galiber clan circled past N'Jadaka, and Kendall helped Leona join N'Jadaka's grandparents on the dais with four other elder cousins from her family. N'Jadaka moved over to them and gave them hugs and kisses before quickly taking his position back in front.
Kendall stood before Didah and the two of them had a playful back and forth of singing. Didah challenged Kendall to tell the world why Yani was the best woman for N'Jadaka and the young man waved his blade around and pointed the torch at the king. The fire was close enough to heat N'Jadaka's cheeks.
Didah held a long singing note and studied N'Jadaka's face.
"Is this woman for you, kumkani?" Didah asked.
"Bring her to me," he replied and the Udaki family laughed and clapped because he was supposed to simply say "Yes."
Didah's smile swelled his heart and she turned her attention back to Kendall.
"The king has spoken," Didah said.
Kendall grinned and attendants took away all the torches and cutlass weapons. The Wakandan drummers pounded away giving Kendall time to ceremonially return to the bride-to-be letting her know she was called forth. The sweet orchestral sounds of Wakandan strings, flutes, and violins mixed with the beautiful vocals of his paternal grand aunt serenading the strides of Twyla and Bibi. Twyla was already bawling as she clutched her husband's arm and the bouquet of flowers. Yani had all of her bridesmaids wear custom-made, iridescent mother-of-pearl dresses that each woman was allowed to choose in their personal style. Twyla's garment was a one shoulder wrap dress with a high slit on the left side. Her shoulder-length locs were also heavily decorated with island flowers. She clutched Bibi's arm tight while sniffling toward him. They stood on either side of N'Jadaka and he bent over and kissed Twyla's cheek, wiping her tears away.
"I'm sorry..I'm sorry…" Twyla whispered.
N'Jadaka laughed at her and she gathered herself together.
Zola and Ilana walked down with Tahir and Mpilo wearing elaborate crisscross halter neck gowns. The slits in their dresses were more modest, but their elaborate braided hair-dos showed flair and sassiness in their style. Mpilo looked terrified of messing up his walk down the aisle with Ilana, but he relaxed more when the king smiled at him. The heavenly music elevated the feelings in the temple and N'Jadaka touched his chest hoping it wouldn't explode before Yani appeared.
Anika and Dawnette made the long walk down the aisle with Walter and Shawn. Their dresses were a matching ruched style with sequins at the top and satiny overskirts that reminded N'Jadaka of mermaids. They crafted thick twists in their hair and wore their hair flowers tucked at their left temples like Billie Holiday.
Junie escorted Shuri who stunned everyone with her make-up and hair. She had fluffed out her hair into a perfectly coiffed 'fro where flowers were strategically placed to look like they grew from her scalp like a giant ebony bouquet. Her dress had a plunging neck with split sleeves that showed skin powdered with sparkly dust that twinkled like stars on her rich brown skin. As she passed the front row, she gave a nod to Nakia who held a sleeping Toussaint on her lap. Shuri gave a sly smirk to N'Jadaka knowing he was peeping all the extra make-up she never wore in her regular life. His young cousin looked stunning and his older cousin Junie looked proud to escort her in front of the Udaku clan.
Kendall strolled out with Nevaeh whose custom dress shared her Native heritage with Yurok detailing of abalone shells and stringed shell beads that dangled around her waist like a fancy apron that jingled as she walked. She wore a long braid threaded with flowers all the way to the small of her back. When she separated from Kenny she blew a kiss to N'Jadaka and showed him the extra bouquet of flowers she held for Marisol and Disa.
The music changed into a melody that transfixed the entire temple gathering. A young woman sang like an angel with a choral ensemble backing her up high above them. N'Jadaka lifted his gaze to a balcony above the temple entrance where the angelic voices rained down on them like holy blessings. He now understood why Umama insisted that the wedding take place in the late afternoon. The placement of the sun in the sky had its sunrays directed into the temple by the architecture where it created a natural spot light for his children coming down the aisle next.
The entire congregation stood up when Joba appeared, flower crowned with her thick wavy hair shiny with ringlet curls all down to her back. She held a basket of flowers and threw them in front of herself as she slowly walked in the procession. N'Jadaka heard the oohs and ahhs of their guests. The sun made Joba's skin a deep mahogany brown like her mother's and he beckoned for her to keep walking to him so he could hug her. Although her walk was out of order for an American custom, the Wakandans deemed it appropriate for the youngest child in the bridal party to herald the coming of the new wife with flowers and acceptance from the priest.
Joba reached the front and her eyes took in the ancient wisdom of Dinani who presided over the ceremony. Dinani gestured for Joba to come forward and the little girl paused, staring up at the expectant priest. Twyla waved for Joba to come to her side, but Dinani stepped forward and held Joba's hand. Something sacred transpired between the priest and his child. Dinani glanced at N'Jadaka and smiled. Whatever it was made the priest happy. N'Jadaka reached for Joba's hand and pulled her in front of him. He kissed the top of her head and the sweet show of affection made a few guests wave their hands in approval.
Sydette, his ring bearer, stepped lively carrying a satin pillow in her right hand that held the wedding rings. Her left hand kept a tight grip on a red satin binding rope that she would tie around her parent's wrists as part of the wedding ceremony.
His eldest child's hair carried buoyant curls that almost looked bigger than Shuri's 'fro with a braided Mohawk style. A few flowers were tucked into the intricate braiding pattern along her scalp accentuating the fullness of her curls, and her face glowed as she kept her eyes on her Baba watching her steps. Sunlight dappled across her hair and face as she drew closer to him. Her dress matched Joba's, silvery white and princess-styled to fit her age.
"Hey Sweet Pea," he said.
She fixed her lightly pink-glossed lips into a big smile for him showing big dimples like him, and took her place by his side next to Joba. He bent down and gave her a kiss on her nose and she giggled, patting his cheek with the hand carrying the marriage tie. She glanced at her sister and Joba giggled making Sydette giggle more.
"Wait until you see Mama," Sydette said to him.
N'Jadaka straightened right back up and waited for Yani to appear. Before she stepped into the temple, he heard her voice singing the words that were meant for him in that little St. Thomas club so long ago.
"Can't do without you for sure
Amount a place I and I explore
Still nuh find nobody else I adore
Them can't stop we, yeah
Yuh love a sumn wah mi have to protect
You are my balance and my ease to mi stress
Your vibration never fail me yet
Wull on pon me, yea…"*
N'Jadaka had been unaware that Yani was going to sing during their ceremony. Their rehearsal had been calculated from start to finish and at no time was he made aware of his bride serenading him. His ears caught the lead singer of the choral ensemble vocalizing the exact same English words into Wakandan, lending her vocals after Yani finished.
Like it had been in the past, he was mesmerized by Yani's voice before she even stepped into his sight.
Riki held his mother's hand and led her into the temple. His royal robes were an exact replica of his father's. His hair was fluffed out into the big sandy-red sunburst of his grandmother Califia. Yani wanted her son, the first child born to N'Jadaka, to give her away for the ceremony.
N'Jadaka's lips trembled as he watched the beaming face of his gorgeous bride walking toward him in all her glory. Yani's silvery-white dress sparkled in the light of the sun rays that struck the shimmery iridescence in all the right places. Form-fitting, a hood covered her head that fell back into a luxurious train, accentuating the roundness of her beautiful face and big tranquil eyes.
His heart stopped.
N'Jadaka gasped and Joba patted his wrist keeping his spirit from flying out of the room. He held out his hands, palms up, willing his radiant bride to come to him with all his might. Riki took his time setting Yani's pace. The boy wanted to show off his mother. The Wakandan choir sang over their bridal march with a hymnal that brought tears to N'Jadaka's eyes. Yani transported him.
He stood nude in warm liquid inside a Caribbean sea as a young mouthy woman fussed at him to get out of her waters. Surly eyes from the past challenged him to show his true self in a hectic kitchen on a compound until he clawed his way back to humanity and fell in love with his future queen. Yani beckoned him into the ocean of her love for all time. Was there no better proof of higher powers protecting him than that divine encounter with her?
Nothing prepared him fully to witness a vision coming toward him that made his whole body quake. He gasped for breath. Joba squeezed his hand.
"Its okay, Baba. Umi Yani is coming," Joba said.
Riki stopped halfway to the priest and puffed up his chest.
"Baba, come get Mama!" Riki shouted.
The congregation erupted into cacophonous laughter. Like his father, Riki eschewed tradition and said what needed to be said. Sydette pushed N'Jadaka forward and he took eager strides toward Yani. He was supposed to sing the royal wedding song that grooms shared with the bride, but he spoke them instead. The Wakandan words slowed down his steps and he approached Yani full-throated and proud:
"Come when the nights are bright with stars Or when the moon is mellow; Come when the sun his golden bars Drops on the hay-field yellow. Come in the twilight soft and gray, Come in the night or come in the day, Come, O love, whene'er you may, And you are welcome, welcome.
You are sweet, O Love, dear Love, You are soft as the nesting dove. Come to my heart and bring it rest As the bird flies home to its welcome nest.
Come when my heart is full of grief Or when my heart is merry, Come with the falling of the leaf Or with the redd'ning cherry. Come when the year's first blossom blows, Come when the summer gleams and glows, Come with the winter's drifting snows, And you are welcome, welcome…"**
He smiled, happy that he was able to remember every word and say them with enough eloquence in flawless Wakandan. Pausing for a moment to look over her stunning appearance, he relished the sight they created standing in the center of the temple with the warmth of the sun caressing them.
"Will you walk with me Yani Galiber?" he asked.
Yani kept her eyes locked onto his face. She fought to keep any tears from welling up, but the shimmer on her lower lids lost the battle. He never wanted to see her cry, but he made an exception for that day. Riki nudged her hip with an impatient hand. She cradled her son's chin and spoke to him softly.
"Should we?" Yani asked Riki.
A saucy grin curled Riki's lips and he nodded enthustiastically.
"I will walk with you King N'Jadaka Udaku," she said.
"Say that one mo' 'gin," N'Jadaka teased, cupping a hand to his ear.
Yani laughed and obliged him, her voice as soft and magical as it had been the first time he heard it.
"I will walk with you forever King N'Jadaka Udaku…my Golden Jaguar."
"Aye!" he shouted while offering her his arm. She held onto him with a firm grip and he clasped Riki's hand, escorting them both to Dinani.

Yani held tight to Riki's hand while the adult bridesmaids and groomsmen walked into the temple stepping in time to the exalted music playing for them. Several women priests had smudged her and the children with aromatic plants and oils before they left the palace and once again, a young female priest circled Yani and the children with a gold incense burner trailing a spiraling cloud of purple smoke that clung to their wedding garments and hair. The sweet odor calmed her mind and settled the children who were ready to gallop through the temple to reach their father.
Sydette hugged her waist.
"You look beautiful Mama," Sydette said.
"Thank you Sweet Pea. You all look beautiful, too."
Yani touched Sydette's hair then caressed Joba's cheek.
"I wish they'd hurry up," Riki lamented, swinging Yani's hand.
"They have to take their time walking down the aisle, silly. Everything is being filmed for the country and it's a big deal. If they walked fast they'd miss all the pretty clothes and how good we all look," Sydette said.
Riki and Sydette spoke quietly and Yani honed in on Joba's silence. She had been chatty and playful earlier that morning when everyone rushed around bathing in sacred oils and herbs with the female priests overseeing their preparations. But once they'd eaten a full breakfast, dressed, and left the palace, she'd quieted down.
Yani knelt before her youngest child and clasped her hands.
"How are you feeling, Sunshine? Nervous?"
Joba nodded. Sydette wrapped big sister arms around her.
"You'll make Baba proud when you lead us out…okay? We practiced and practiced and you will make the path for Mama pretty. I will be right behind you," Sydette said.
Joba clutched her basket of flowers and nodded. She tilted her head to look at Yani.
"What if I drop the basket or walk too fast?" Joba said.
Relief spilled over Yani hearing her speak again.
"All you have to do is listen to the music. It's like the metronome in Umama's suite. The beat sets the pace. If you think you're walking too fast, check the music cues. You are going to be a wonderful flower girl."
Yani hugged her and Joba leaned into the embrace. She kissed Yani's cheek and all was well again.
"It's time Princess Joba."
The lead wedding director smiled at the little girl and held a hand out to guide her into position at the temple entrance. Riki ran forward and hugged Joba. He whispered something in her ear and his sister broke out into another bright smile.
"You got this," Riki said out loud.
The director glanced at Yani.
"Everyone is standing up…here we go," the director said.
Joba took a deep breath and marched in time to the harmonious music.
"I'm next! I'm next!" Sydette squealed, twirling in a circle holding the wedding rings and sacred red tie.
Sydette peeked around the wedding director.
"Oh Mama! Baba looks so handsome," Sydette said.
Yani's heart and stomach fluttered. The anticipation of seeing him engulfed all of her nerve endings. They all heard collective oohs and ahhs and a smattering of applause. She wondered what happened to make the congregation applaud. Luckily, she would be able to watch the entire ceremony at a later time. The ceremony was broadcast live and recorded from start to finish. Palace recorders filmed everything the moment they stepped foot outside the palace for candid shots to later be edited into a royal wedding documentary.
"Princess Sydette, you are next please."
The director held out a hand and waved it, summoning the girl. Sydette blew Yani a kiss and marched out like a diva.
"Here you go, Princess Yani."
Another wedding coordinator handed her a mic. Yani waited for her music cue to tap it on. The peaceful strumming of harps alerted her, and she sang out all that she felt to N'Jadaka. She wondered what his facial expression looked like hearing her voice singing that particular song. Riki squeezed her hand in support and for a moment, holding her son's hand and singing to his father brought back all the connections they had in St. Thomas. Emotion spilled through her voice as she conveyed to the king how much he meant to her.
As the voice of the Wakandan choral member sang the song in their language with a different musical arrangement that transformed into the Wakandan wedding march, Yani held tight to her bridal bouquet and let her son lead them into the temple.
Grateful to have her son's hand for support, Yani took in the hundreds of faces that watched her march toward her destiny. Her brain tried to connect with individual eyes upon her. That proved useless once she zeroed in on N'Jadaka waiting for her at the far end.
God…he was more than handsome.
She lost her footing for a second and Riki helped her find her steps again.
It all came down to this moment.
Yani drifted away into a time when she was a lost woman-child trying to make a way out of no way on a small island. How many nights had she prayed for a better life for herself and Sydette? Given up on herself? How many days had she cried and chastised herself for choosing love with Chez who treated her so poorly and abandoned Sweet Pea? Yani had felt so alone and lost to a pre-destined fate that befell too many young women with big hearts and limited resources or support. Thank God Auntie was there for her. Thank all the angels too that her auntie liked Killmonger so much that she didn't run interference keeping them apart. There were too many tangible things that should have prevented Yani from ever meeting the foreign mercenary.
But look at God.
Her eyes watered and she looked away to control her blurry vision. No tears fell and she was able to concentrate on her delicate steps to reach the king.
Riki halted their march and shouted for his father to get her. The audience laughed and Yani chuckled herself. His declaration was not a part of the ceremony. She lifted her bridal bouquet to her lips to hide her open-mouthed laughter when Riki sucked his teeth sounding like an annoyed Auntie back home.
Her laughter fell away once N'Jadaka came down the aisle to claim her at his son's demand. She heard a few gasps from women around her who also felt that energy coming toward her. He spoke forceful words of love instead of singing them to her. The switch up made the evocative words more powerful and she felt every utterance in her bones, marrow deep. When he finally reached her, she could barely see his face. Her eyes had become a river threatening to spill down her face.
"Will you walk with me Yani Galiber?" N'Jadaka asked.
His voice was full of pride and so much love for her. The scent of oils on his skin and the smudging on his clothes smelled heavenly. She lost the ability to speak taking all of his spirit in. Riki balled up a small fist and pressed it into her hip. Yani lifted his chin and stared into Riki's shiny eyes.
"Should we?" Yani asked her son.
Those little Udaku lips on his face swept up into a knowing smile and Riki nodded like she was foolish to even ask the question. She looked at her great love again.
"I will walk with you King N'Jadaka Udaku," she said.
"Say that one mo' 'gin!"
N'Jadaka had cupped his ear and she knew in her soul he did that purely to show off for the nobles who questioned her place in his life.
"I will walk with you forever King N'Jadaka Udaku…my Golden Jaguar."
"Aye!"
Yani gripped his arm and he held Riki's hand, escorting them all to the priest waiting for them. Her bridesmaids and bridesgroom were in various stages of watery eyes, crying, and beaming love to her. She handed her bouquet to Twyla and her cousin gushed over her with a weepy voice.
Facing N'Jadaka, Yani watched the priest give Sydette instructions. She handed the wedding rings to her brother and a footstool was placed in front of her so she could easily bind her mother and father together. Dinani spoke ancient words as Sydette tied the satin binding rope around N'Jadaka's wrist first. She left about two feet of rope in between them before she tied the other end on Yani's wrist. Her task complete, Sweet Pea kissed both their wrists and returned to stand next to Joba.
Yani listened to the Wakandan words spoken by the priest, but her eyes stayed on N'Jadaka's face the entire time. His soulful eyes drank in every inch of her. It seemed like they were the only two there, but with the guests, plus the entire Udaku clan in attendance, over one thousand people witnessed their union and she blotted them all out.
Dinani spoke of their expected duties toward one another. Her ears glossed over all of those expectations and only tuned back in when the long ceremony moved into the portion where she was told the qualities of a virtuous queen.
Holy scripture was read by Ayiz'e who wore the sacred red robes of the mountain temple of Bast. A male priest presented Dinani with more sacred oils and they anointed Yani and N'Jadaka. The qualities of a virtuous king were recited to N'Jadaka. An older female priest blessed their children who stood there, and also blessed the children they would have in the future.
Umama stepped forward from her place on the dais holding Yani's queen isicholo. Dinani prayed over the crown and anointed it with holy Bast oils before N'Jadaka pulled back the hood on Yani's wedding dress revealing her platinum hair. Umama's voice was loud and strong.
"We of the Udaku clan accept Yani Galiber into this holy union. She is our welcomed daughter…our new queen…Queen Yani N'Isiqithi the First."
The women of the entire Udaku clan broke out into heartfelt ululations that echoed throughout the temple. Yani bowed her head slightly and Umama placed the queen's isicholo on her head.
"Stay blessed Queen Yani, may your reign make us all proud and may your greatest grandmother Queen Mary guide your hand in all that you do," Umama said.
Yani stood still and accepted the ululations, the shouts, the applause, the jealousy, the envy, the hatred, the admiration, the love, the curiosity, and the fear her queendom brought to Wakanda. She straightened her posture and let the weight of the crown sink into soul.
Queen Yani.
Heavy was the head that wore the crown, but not so much with N'Jadaka by her side. He held her hand up and they turned around to face the congregation. Dinani raised their arms and spoke with a firm tone in their voice.
"May I present to you all here, the royal heads of the nation, King N'Jadaka and Queen Yani Udaku, avatars of the Golden Jaguar…children of the Black Pather Tribe."
Everyone in the temple stood, including the relatives on the dais. The Council of Elders came forth from the audience and circled Yani and N'Jadaka. They held hands and recited an oath promising them both wise council in the days ahead. Stepping aside afterward, Yani and her new husband were able to acknowledge the crowd amidst their applause.
"You may now kiss your bride, kumkani," Dinani said.
N'Jadaka's lips were on hers before the priest finished giving permission, almost knocking her crown off. He kissed her within an inch of her life and backed away when she almost went limp.
"Hey queen," he said.
"Hey king," she answered.
Yani checked on their children and all three had glossy eyes admiring her new isicholo. N'Jadaka threaded his fingers with hers and boldly showed her off. To close the ceremony, they had to circle the inside of the temple as newlyweds counterclockwise. The isicholo settled nicely on her head, and Yani willfully entered her new era as ruler. She relaxed into N'Jadaka's strides and pranced about, letting her beauty and new status burn her enemies down to charcoal.
N'Jadaka kept stopping to kiss her hand and the red satin binding tie dangled between them letting everyone know they would never part. She reveled in the power, soaked it up and let it propel her around the temple with a fierce protective energy.
Back at the front again, N'Jadaka kissed her chasrely, with pecks to her lips and both cheeks. She bent down to hug and kiss their children just as the closing wedding march started. Dinani gave their final blessing and the Udaku family drummers showed out again, leading the march out of the temple. Didah sang a new griot song prophesying the reign of Yani and N'Jadaka.
"Ready to face the rest of the world?" N'Jadaka asked.
"I am," Yani said.
They held hands tight and strolled down the aisle together, exiting the ancient temple as husband and wife.

VS SHOW FASHION REVIEW: MY FAVS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE BEST: we’re starting off with my top three, Bella Hadid, Lila Moss, and Paula Soares.
10000/10, I absolutely loooove these three looks, I love the pink fur coat and the stars on the bra in the second one.
I also love Bella’s coat, and that the lingerie is more simple and lets the big coat shine. Face card never declines, as always.
Paula’s is probably my favorite, I love when VS does rockstar themes (like in 2017). Her hair, the long sleeve, the star bra, it’s so cool. The wings on the heals aren’t my favorite, but they’re not horrible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
RED: Adriana Lima, Grace Elizabeth, Candace Swanepoel, Vittoria Cerreti
I love this Adriana look wayyyy more than her first one. I would have loved to see her natural curls with this looks or with a classic VS blowout.
Grace and Adriana both have similar sets/rompers and they both look stunning. I didn’t love the wings with the writing, some of them looked a little cheap, but I do think the one’s Grace is wearing looked the best.
I love Candace’s ribbon bow on the back and her makeup and hair go together so well.
I absolutely love Vittoria’s top here and her shoes. I feel like 95% of the wings this year sucked (and they gave them to some actual angels while other angels didn’t get them, which is odd) but hers look good with this look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
GOLD, SILVER, AND BLACK GLAMOUR: Irina Shayk, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham.
I love Irina’s train (is that what you’d call it?) and her dark hair looks gorgeous with the look.
I’m so glad Alessandra got wings and they are beautiful. Truly a gold dust woman.
I really enjoyed Ashley’s whole look, like Irina, her dark hair looks beautiful with the look. I also think the cape and wings look gorg!
PART TWO SOON
